Edie brings a little Duluth to the Grand Canyon
|
Ask Edie what she loves most, and she might tell you to take a hike!
“During my long career in advertising, television and public relations, I didn’t have much time for outdoor activities. But after retirement, I moved from Minnesota to Arizona and discovered the joy of hiking.
From the steep, rocky trails in the Prescott National Forest near my home to the scenic wonders of Sedona and the Grand Canyon, my son and I explore the natural beauty of the West. Both of us have been world travelers, but always enjoy getting back to hiking in Arizona.
I was delighted when my son introduced me to the quality, comfort and practicality of Duluth clothing. I wear it on plane trips, attending classes at our community college – and, of course, on our hikes.
Oh, by the way, I’ll be 84 on my next birthday.”
Now that’s one for the ages. Thanks for being a loyal customer and a fearless Duluth Real Woman, Edie.

Raise a glass to hardworking women everywhere

How cool is Lindsay’s job as a winemaker? We’d sure like to know just what “lab trials” entail…and where we can sign up. Glad to hear our stuff has a long shelf life!
Hello Duluth Trading!
My name is Lindsay and I am a winemaker in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State. It's hard to come by products that have hardworking women in mind! I have had the hardest time finding clothing, boots and gloves that can stand up to the abuse I put out at my job on a daily basis. I spend my days mostly cleaning tanks, filtering wines, doing lab trials, and bottling wines. It means that I am on my feet and usually getting wet, dirty and cold. One of my favorite products is the No-Crack® Hand Cream. Because my hands are always wet, they tend to be severely dry and in the winter they crack. The cream keeps my hands soft and moisturized. Thanks again for stocking hardworking women's clothes! I've included a beauty shot of me with my barrels.
Cheers! Lindsay

Sarah rocks her Climate Control Jacket!
|
Sarah, a student, is one heck of a trekker. Guess what's in her backpack?
Dear Duluth Trading Company,
Ever since I was young, I have ridden, driven, hiked, biked, and rafted through most of the National Parks in the Western U.S. For the last few years, I have been looking for a jacket that will stand up in both the bitter cold and the pleasantly mild destinations. Then, one day while surfing through your website, I came across the Climate Control Jacket. Taking the plunge, I ordered it, intending to test your claims during my trip to Rocky Mountain National Park. Not only did the jacket pass, it exceeded all claims and expectations! From short half-mile hikes to 13-mile hikes, from sunny 80 degrees to 45 degrees with a 35 mph wind, my Climate Control Jacket was up for the challenge. It kept me comfortably warm and dry, allowing me to focus on the breathtaking scenery, rather than the breath-stealing weather! Thank you for such a great Discovery! (Here I am wearing my Climate Control Jacket while hiking Rocky Mountain's Tundra Trail along Trail Ridge Road, the highest continuous paved highway in the U.S.)

“I am still boogie-ing at 72!”
Linda M.'s philosophy? Quality of life is directly proportional to the effort you put into it. After years of running a wilderness and rafting school for at-risk kids, the piano player and her husband retired to 30 acres of land that, thanks to a conservation easement, will forever remain a wildlife sanctuary. They grow organic food and provide their own electricity and heat – and still play music together daily. “I’m glad you’re offering quality clothing for us hardworking women, as we are never too old for good Duluth clothing!”
