Pure Awesomeness

By Home Inspector

from Dallas, TX

Pros

  • Comfertable
  • Durable
  • Proffesional
  • Washes well
  • Well Designed

Cons

    Best Uses

    • Contractor
    • Home inspections

I'm a home inspector and use these pants with the tool pouches, knee pads and hammer loop aka flashlight loop. I compare Duluth's products to a certain tech company with a fruity logo. They work, they work well, expertly designed, and once you have them you're not really sure how you ever worked without them. Simply put if you're going to grab a tool during the day, if you work with your hands, if you work on your feet, if you do anything besides sitting on your butt pushing papers around you need these pants. These pants are proof that America works hard, and that we kick butt.

    Should have gotten these sooner.

    Pros

    • Easy access to pockets
    • I Use It For Riding My Hd
    • The Fit Is So Comfortable

    Cons

      Best Uses

      • Great For Hd Riders

I use these pants for heavy work and for riding my Harley Davidson. They work so well for both uses. The pocket access ability is hand and secure so items won't fall out. I added two inches to the normal length to insure that the cuffs rest on the boots while riding. The water proofing is an added benefit both for work and wet riding conditions.

Very good pants, range of motion is better than most pants and I can fit lots of stuff in the large pockets, my only problem is that the knee and knee pad are low and a little outside of my knee.

            • Construction

Love how comforatble and durable they are... Even though they are of a heavy material, they breath very well... Very happy with the functionality as well - regarding the various pockets... And the velcro tool bag holder is ingenious... I actually bought a second pair.. The only minor issue I had was these seem to run different in sizing compared to my normal jeans... Had to order and exchange - which was a pain cause Deluth seems to use horse & buggy for deliveries...

              Best Uses

              • Stagehand Work

I'm a stagehand in NYC and that means carrying lots of items at once, climbing, kneeling, and making sure you don't drop anything. The cargo pockets and back pockets are great (you can leave them open and reach in easy or close them for safety). The velcro loops on the side are awesome and can loop around full rolls of tape. No one can even tell I have knee pads tucked away in my pants unless I tell them (bonus: while standing, the knee pad inserts act as shin guards and then turn into knee pads when you bend down). My only qualm with these pants is the main side pockets (where one would normally put their hands while standing). My other pairs of Duluth pants have always had the super deep 11" (I think) pockets, but these are smaller and only seem to be about 8". I can't see any reason for this change from their regular work pant, and I've always loved that I can put any size zip-tie in the pockets for easy access during event work, but that is not the case with these. If you highly value deep side pockets, I would go for the regular fire hose work pant instead. Otherwise, the features of these are definitely worth the little bit of extra money.
