The pockets don't stand up to normal use

    By Brian

    from Salinas, CA

    Pros

      Cons

      • Length too short
      • Pockets Develope Holes

      Best Uses

After 2 years of use, I am more than happy with the outer material and how well it's held up to abuse. Unfortunately, I can't keep change in the pockets as they continue to develope holes. I keep sewing them up and they tear in a new area. Also, compared to the other Firehose pants I've bought, the length of these are too short. Same waist, same inseam on the others was perfect.

        Pros

        • Comfy
        • Fire Hose

        Cons

        • As The Original
        • Firehose Pants
        • Not Nearly As Tough
        • Seem To Be Made Cheaper

        Best Uses

I bought two pairs of these thinking they would be great for when I don't need all the pockets of my original fire hose work pants... after two months the stitching started giving out, the pants themselves ripped. not just one pair but both pairs both in the same areas.. I wear my originals twice as much on the farm and after two years have not worn them out at all.. two months later with these and I sent them back.

I wasn't sure about these when I bought a pair about a year ago, but I quickly found myself wearing them a couple times a week. I went in to the store for another pair or two, but it seems they've been discontinued, unfortunately. The flex fire hose pants are similar, but I like this fabric better.

            Not true to size.

I read reviews of these pants; some said they ran small, some said they fit fine. I found them on sale and decided to give them a shot and ordered my normal size 34/30. Waist was too tight, length was fine. I really like the material and how they fit (except the waist). If the waist had been OK I would be keeping them. I will be exchanging them for something else; maybe I will try the other firehose pant styles that reviews say are true to size.

                    Hello,

I work in a Limestone mine and the job is very hard on all my work gear. Regular jeans will only last 2 - 3 months and they are in tatters. I bought some Dickies work pants and they lasted a year and they are done. I've only had the Firehose pants a week but they are TOUGH! I couldn't believe how soft and comfortable they are. They really repel the water and mud so they are much easier to wash. I was always leery of them because of the price but I will never buy any other brand from now on! If you work hard and go though a lot of pants you own it to yourself to get some Firehose pants you WON'T regret it!

The Fire Hose line of pants are great! These will be your final brand you'll ever want to buy for work pants! The only thing keeping the Utility Pant from a 5 star rating is they seem to run a size smaller than my normal size. The FH Work Pant in the same size fit perfect. Returning both pair of Utility pants for next size up.

                            • Everyday work

Material: very tough fabric, repels water, stitching is great, so far just a half a dozen washes and holding up very well.
Size/Fit: my normal size, which I ordered, is 34x34. Was too tight so I returned for larger size, which went smoothly, for 36x34; received exchange and it was too short. 36x36 not available, not happy. Other than being a little short it fits very comfortably.
Color: I bought a pair in navy and another in brown. Happy with the navy but not happy with the brown, which has a hint of orange, it's not really brown.

I work with, in, and around water all day long and these pants repel water to a point keeping me dryer than jeans or pants made of other materials. They are very comfortable and roomy. I hope they can last for a few years. After six months they are wearing really well.

have gone through so many different pants over the years. This is the first pair of pants, that have fit my oversized back side since I left those mid 20's years. Thank you for making available a hard working, well fitting, ball room type jean for us less than perfect male formed body building, skinny jean fitting males.
