I read most of the reviews before buying and tried to keep my expectations reasonable. This bag exceeded all expectations--the red is a rich, deep color, and the leather texture and smell is wonderful. The strap length was fine for me (I am an average size and I don't wear bulky coats, which might help) and though I could use more compartments, I appreciate the fact that there's no compartmented lining that can tear. The interior black nylon side pocket is stitched through the exterior of the leather on one side (you can see that black pocket in the product shot that shows the interior of the bag), leaving the other side of the bag smooth (that's the side you see in the remaining product shots). Both sides look fine but I prefer the clean look of the unstitched side to face outward. Adding more interior pockets might lead to more visible stitching, or to a compartmented lining that would wear out long before the leather does (or leather dividers that would add to the weight/bulk of the bag). Don't mess with a good style!

I have ordered a total of 6 of these over the past 3 years. I have a brown and red one and really like them both but I use the red one every day to go back and forth to work. I have given them to my best friend, my daughter and 2 daughters-in-law and they use them nearly daily. All 3 colors are beautiful and are very durable. The leather is amazing and only gets better with time. These are a great value, you won't be disappointed with the bag!

I first purchased the brown tote, and liked it so much I wanted the black one too. It went on sale right before Christmas, so I took advantage and gave myself a Christmas present; and I am very pleased. High quality leather with all the room I need, regardless if it's a night out, traveling, shopping, etc. Love this bag!
