Comments about Duluth Trading Women's Lifetime Leather Messenger Bag:

I bought this bag to be used as a purse, but it's much too big and heavy for that purpose...however, my husband and I have been looking at new ranch properties and it has worked really well as a day trip bag......carried everything I could want...and then some.

I would recommend the bag with reservations..........

Comments about Duluth Trading Women's Lifetime Leather Messenger Bag:

I use this messenger bag to cart my music around for orchestra and on-flights. It is absolutely a gorgeous color and quality bag. I love the feel/touch and smell of it. And I can find stuff which is a challenge for me with many bags. My only challenge to use daily is its size. It is a rather large bag for a petite (5'2" 110 person) even with the strap shortened to the max. But I just fell in love with it and found good use.

Comments about Duluth Trading Women's Lifetime Leather Messenger Bag:

The strap length adjustment fastens with a brass peg through a hole, and tends to come unfastened while I'm carrying it. A buckle would be much more practical and secure. Otherwise, I love it. It looks great and doubles as purse and briefcase, with one compartment for each use. The little pockets are good for the small items that tend to get lost in a large bag. and the key holder is the first one I've ever had that's really easy to use and convenient.

love the bag, but strap has a design flaw

Comments about Duluth Trading Women's Lifetime Leather Messenger Bag:

This is a great bag and it's very beautiful. I received it as a college graduation gift. The pockets and the size are perfect. However, the strap is severely flawed. It has this pin that just slips out after using it for a short time period. I've already dropped my macbook air a few times, and am afraid of the damage it did to it. I don't carry very much in there, only some papers, my macbook, and a wallet and phone. I want to return it but my parents are getting it fixed at a shoe shop.

Why they didn't opt for a buckle or at least a bigger pin and hook, I have no idea...

Comments about Duluth Trading Women's Lifetime Leather Messenger Bag:

I love this bag except for the completely dysfunctional strap design. Within two days of getting the bag the strap regularly disengaged from the little pin that was supposed to hold it. Fortunately, I found the perfect fix - a brass "Chicago Screw," readily available online. And, Duluth refunded the cost of shipping the bag, which was sufficient to cover the cost of ordering a small package of Chicago Screws.

Comments about Duluth Trading Women's Lifetime Leather Messenger Bag:

The strap design is a huge problem. I am surprised they have not revised it yet. I took my bag to a shoe repair shaop and had them sew the strap so it would not fail. Now the bag is ok but prior to that, not workable

Comments about Duluth Trading Women's Lifetime Leather Messenger Bag:

Use this bag for law school, I can fit my computer, folders and at least one clunky law book. I had the same strap issues as everybody else, I ended up making my own hook for it. However, the stitching on the top corner has started to unravel, so there are too many issues to justify seeking out and buying this bag.

Bottom line, I love how the bag looks and it holds everything I need, but I would discourage people from buying it.

Comments about Duluth Trading Women's Lifetime Leather Messenger Bag:

I thought I loved this bag but now I am not so sure. The bag is very attractive, the leather is great, and it holds a lot. My complaint is the strap. Truly the strap is not designed very well. When carrying some file folders, a binder, and my laptop the strap came undone and landed on the ground. I was completely caught off guard by that. The strap is held together by one "ball" of metal that fits into a hole on the opposing strap. Unfortunately, the "ball" does not hold the straps together and the bag falls off your shoulder. Even after lightening my load, I still experience the problem. In my opinion, this bag is too expensive to have problems llike that. My laptop was dented and I can't trust the bag to carry expensive valuables any more.

Comments about Duluth Trading Women's Lifetime Leather Messenger Bag:

The bag looks good but the shoulder strap is not made well and after using this bag less than a week the strap started coming loose and the bag falling to the ground. Also the snap closure is difficult because it twists around when trying to open and close.

I went on a trip this was my carry on bag, the strap came undone as soon as I arrived at the airport. I eventually tied it in a knot it did it so many times. It will be going back as soon as I return.
