I'm a land surveyor, and this hat is just about perfect for my line of work. I can even wear it while running the instrument because the soft brim doesn't interfere and can keep the sun out of my eyes from any angle. The only problem was that after several washings, the fabric has begun to disintegrate. I would love to see a hat like this made with Firehose Canvas.

I purchased this hat to use outside while doing gardening, tree trimming, etc . The size is right, it is light weight, protects my face, ears, and neck, and the head band helps keep the sweat off of my face. I highly recommend this hat.

All the comments about too big, too small, floppy brim.......miss the point. This is a [$] hat, not a hundred dollar wool felted hat. You need to CARE for these hats. Throw it in the washer. If it is too big on you, throw it in the dryer. If it is too small, dry it stretched on a small bucket or soccer ball. And the brim.....all you need to do is spray it with a little spray starch after washing it and it is perfect! Don't complain, just maintain the hat like you do your other clothes!

I do property claims for a major insurer and use your products frequently. I like this hat bacause it covers my meager amount of hair as well as my face and neck.
It can handle the heat and sun of the southern boarder and everything north as well. I really like that it keeps the sweat from pouring down my face.

Brim is a little floppier than I would like when wearing the hat, but the up side is that it folds up much better than if it were stiffer.

I use this hat in the high Sierra when I'm hiking or working. I like being able to snap the side brims up for more air, or let them down when I need more sun protection. I also like being able to snug the strap (which is soft and comfy) under my chin when it's windy.
I took the advice of other reviewers about the sizing, and I'm glad I did. I ordered a size up from what I'd normally order, and the fit is perfect -- snug but not constricting. I wish the color didn't fade so quickly (after only two days in the high country, the fatigue green was already yellowing), but other than that, the hat seems durable.
Overall, I'd give this hat an A minus.

hat seems too floppy to be of any use.. the brim should be slightly stiff to keep from blocking your eyes.. its like having really long bangs..
