I am an OR nurse, I carry beepers and phones when I am on call. the vest has enough pockets for all my gear. I also enjoy target shooting, the "nail" pockets are great for additional ammo and magazines. The ventilation is good. I just came in from watching the blue angles in 90 degree weather and I do not feel over heated.

This vest is great for keeping and organizing items needed for handyman projects. The only negative is that it comes with four open pouch attachments which is overkill. I would never carry that many nails, screws, etc. It would be better "out-of-the-box" if it came standard with a variety of attachments (such as hammer loop and/or tool pouch) instead.

I'm a master electrician who was hoping that this vest would be a comfortable alternative to wearing my bags. I carry a lot tools and as many parts as I can because I spend most of time running conduit off of ladders and scissor lifts. It didn't take long to figure out how wrong I was. My first clue that this vest was poorly desinged was the location of the hammer loop.It should be in the back not on the side where it's always in the way. The tool pouch that slides into one of the pockets should be able to be mounted on the velcro loop. I say this for two reasons, if you put the pouch in the back pocket the weight of tools pulls the pocket over and out spills your tools, or you can put the pouch in the front pocket and have it get caught on the ladder rung and rip the pocket off (as it did for me).
I work big jobs and rely on my gear to get me through the day. This vest is not for heavy duty use it will not last a day on a real construction site.

I have little use for the detachable bags, but the vest itself is the BEST. In four years of hard usage, it has finally torn in a few places, and I look forward to another several years of good service from the new one. You can keep the bags!

I use my vest every day. I always call it my man purse or tool box. I carry everything I need to do most tasks. Although with the changes made this time I lost I think 6 pockets. The 2 hand pockets a must have. The 2 bottom pockets should be a bit bigger and accordin style with reinforcement on the inside as this two pockets carry most of the weight. The missing inside pockets I truely miss as this was where I would carry my wallet. Two added features which would make this vest the best out there would to have a 2 way radio holster or pocket a large pocket on the back to have a camel pack for water.

I have been wearing different style vests for work for about 10 years. They are essential to my needs. I do love this vest it could just use a little help to make it the best.

I have bought many a vest from Duluth. This one is the most practical yet. The material is soft yet strong enough for the job and woods.Lots of briars and cactus in Texas but this vest stands up to it all. Great pocket space for all my toys, and it is not to hot for texas summers. Keep up the great work guys. thanks Randy Kobza

This vest is perfect for just about anyone who needs to carry alot of small items and or tools. Being a construction worker and outdoors-man I'm always looking to get the most out of whatever is available. The DTPro Vest is versatile being compatible with either the vest or the pants accessories. Click and cinch the internal belt and it carries the heavier weight of tools and hardware instead of your shoulders. After work or on weekends I just unclip the pouches and head out for a hike or go fishing with the stuff I keep in the many pockets all the time. The vest is lightweight and soft yet the fabric is strong so you can load it up with just about whatever. I ordered a size larger so I can layer underneath for warmth and still have full immediate use of the vest. The neck is cut large and down to the chest, which along with the mesh back vents, should help keep you cool on those hotter days but also allows for the hood of a nice warm coat to come through easily on cold days. For me one size larger is still not too big to wear just a T-shirt underneath. The belt cinches down to quite a small size yet there is enough to still be able to tighten it around your coat/jacket in colder weather. A well-thought and well-made garment for sure. The only time I don't wear it outdoors is when I'm surfing.
