This is an excellent razor that I have recommended to my family and friends. This razor does not take all your hide off like disposable multi-blade razors tend to do.

I cannot stand facial hair, as it's very uncomfortable for me, therefore I have tried several methods to get the best shave possible. I also cannot shave every day, because my face will get too irritated. A single blade shaving method is the answer for my situation.

I have tried straight razor shaving as well, and it took more time and attention than I was willing to put in. This razor gave a smooth, non-irritating shave the first time out. I was even able to do a few against-the-grain passes to get some real smoothness. If you are tired of paying nearly $20 for replacement cartridges which wear out too quickly, give this safety razor a try.

Some tips I found to get a good shave:
1.) The weight of the razor head is all the pressure you should use to cut the hair. Do not press the blade to your face.
2.) The handle length should not be a problem, as this handle is well balanced. Don't hold the razor like a drum-stick, hold it only with your thumb, index, and middle fingers. Let the razor do the work, not you.
3.) Wet shaving is essential. Even if you don't have this razor, wet shaving is a must for ultimate comfort with any razor blade.
4.) Take your time, be persistent, soon you will be faster with no nicks.

I use it just about everyday and get a really close shave. I don't have to replace the blade so often and don't suffer razor burn. It's a little heavier than modern razors, so I guess I get a bit of a workout as well.

After using this razor, I just do not see how the "multi blade" razors stay so popular. This was hands down the closest shave I've ever had. I've used the 3-5 blade setups, disposables, etc., and this little guy blows them all away. Now, keep in mind, the handle on this razor is short (just like it mentions in the description), and the shaving head is heavy; almost exactly opposite to current razors on the market. Almost all of us are used to having a heavy, long handle to grasp to compensate for the featherweight razor head. If you firmly grasp this razor's handle, and let the blade glide across your face with no pressure, you will have no problems. Take your time; do not rush using this on the first few times until you get accustomed to it. You'll need to get used to the shaving angle at first, but once familiar, you'll wish you had one sooner. Blades are available at almost every drug store in the shaving section; you may have to hunt for them, but they are there. Quality workmanship throughout this nifty little razor is apparent once you assemble and begin use. A textured handle would be nice, but I do not believe that detracts from the razor at all once accustomed to how it feels in your hand.

Titanium does not rust and it is very light. No need to plate unit. Titanium is better on skin contact.

Titanium would have decreased the weight and it still could have been made of the same dimentions. Also, Titanium does not rust so you would not need a plating finish.

It's been a long time since I have used a safety razor. My first attempt with this razor was a bloody mess (my fault, too much pressure) but after I got the hang of it, it shaves great. I have gotten very fast with it now and with the low cost of blades this is an even better deal. The razor is very good quality. I highly recommend.

Learned to shave with one of these. Decided to try one again and I am not disappointed. Well made, feels good in the hand, and very close shave. My skin is as smooth as a baby's behind after shaving and I have a tough beard. When used with the shaving soap, simply luxurious!
