Comments about Japanese Hori Hori Knife:

This is an essential tool for the home gardener and the pro alike. It is very sturdy, has a knife edge and saw edge, is curved like a trowel and has a handy measure on the blade for planting depth. All in all an excellent tool for the gardener. The provided sheath was chintzy compared to the tool and should be improved. Even so, a necessary buy for any serious gardener. Several friends have already asked where to get the tool.

Almost didn't buy this. So glad I did. I love it! So useful for many things when outside working in the soil and woods. Could even be helpful if I came upon a bear, JK! It is very sharp...had to learn to clean the blade from the back not the sharp side. It almost cut my NITRILE GLOVES. Pretty much just need this tool on me. Other tools for big jobs now :) I always want to buy everyone I know the things I discover. I like the sheath and belt option too.

Comments about Japanese Hori Hori Knife:

This garden knife works perfect for dividing up potted plants and cutting out patches of grass sod from my garden and flower beds. I love having the lines on the knife blade for measuring soil depth. The scabbard is not as heavy duty as the knife, but attaching the scabbard to the wall in my greenhouse really works well for a place to store the knife so I can find it when needed. I plan to buy one for my daughter and daughter-in-law as a gift for their greenhouse and garden use..

I was really excited to get my hori hori. It cuts through the weeds in my garden like they are nothing. I just wish the case was a little bit better made.

The Hori Hori knife is indispensable. My gardener friend spied, tried it out and we subsequently ordered two more. We only wish that the case was more rugged and had an easy on off clip.

Comments about Japanese Hori Hori Knife:

I use this knife for weeding, dividing perennials, digging holes for annuals - so many uses. The blade will bend if too much pressure is used but can be bent back easily and after much use is as good as ever. I used to have a similar knife sold by Smith & Hawkins that was better constructed and would never bend. But the blade, especially the serrated side, was not as sharp. Prefer this version because of how well it cuts and slices.

Comments about Japanese Hori Hori Knife:

I am getting the roots of a large tree out of a pot that is narrower at the top then the girth. I must slice and chop at them and the Hori Hori is doing a fantastic job. I can save the pot which is alot more expensive than the knife!
