Light and comfortable. Very stable. Only problem is the wrist strap which is attached. It has a poor attachment, but the strap can easily be replaced. Would have given it 5 stars if had a better strap. Like this stick much more than my Leki

I bought a Gastrock Hiking Staff from Duluth Trading 8 or 9 years ago as a replacement for another wooden staff which had cracked, in fact it was the very first thing I ever purchased from Duluth. I'm happy to report the the staff is still in one piece and going strong when several collapsible staffs I've tried have gone by the wayside. It's never let me down, never suddenly collapsed when I needed it most, and if something happens to it I'll definitely buy another one. Am really glad to see that it's still in Duluth's inventory after all these years.

I use this stick everytime I go hiking. Looks good and makes my hiking very stable. The compass comes in handy when map hiking and keeps me on track. I am 65 and cannot image hiking where I do with out this fine product. I am getting ready to purchase one for my wife, she keeps using mine when we are out together. Thanx Duluth.

Good hiking stick. I found replacement rubber tips on the internet. The built in compass failed a couple of years ago and there is no way to replace it (at least I have not figured it out.). I use the stick daily during our annual 30 day stay in Yosemite Natl.Park.

Gave this to my mom (she's in her 80's) as a gift to use as a stability aid in her twice a day, winter walks to tend to her chickens and gather eggs. Works great!

Birdwatching/walks can present challenges for this old bird so I appreciate the security/stability this stick gives. I own a different "carved" stick but do not use it in inclement weather or moist/wet soil which is why I picked up this one. Very pleased with my purchase and would recommend this to anyone wanting a solid, functional walking stick.
