Comments about Sawbill Twill Expedition Pack:

I bought this bag for my son who is in college and he really liked it. At least he said he did. He used it while on safari in Uganda and packed it heavily and it withstood the three day trip with ease.

Previous backpack was destroyed in a motorcycle accident. Purchased this as a replacement. So far the backpack has met and exceeded expectations.

Comments about Sawbill Twill Expedition Pack:

I like the pack, it's not big, could stand some more CU, but a good solid pack that isn't covered in zippers and relectors and water bottle pockets, and googaws. It's nice enough that it will hold up and wear well, but not so nice that someone will yank it off the conveyor belt at the airport or knock out your window to get it. More of a long weekend pack. The padded laptop sleeve is nice, but a little small for most current laptops, but that wasn't why I was buying it to start with. The permanently attached ID tag is great.

Comments about Sawbill Twill Expedition Pack:

I cycle an hour to work, so need a bag that fits in the bike basket and carries everything I need for the day as a freelance teacher. This really fits the bill. Holds all the textbooks I need, the laptop computer, water, cords, pens, pencils, wallets, cell phone, and too much else to list here. I had the Duluth engineer's pack previously and was very sad when the zipper finally gave out on it after three years of use. I was sceptical about the clips instead of zippers, and have had items shake out if the pockets aren't cinched down, but hopefully the clips will prove more durable than the zipper on the old pack did. The old pack also had rubber stoppers on the bottom. I think the leather bottom is much more effective; two of those bits of rubber fell off on the old pack, but I can't see doing much damage to the leather even after several years of use. Finally, one thing I miss from the old pack is a chest support strap. My bag is heavy enough that I found that really comfortable for walking/hiking. The new bag doesn't have that, so I wouldn't recommend it for recreational uses where you would be carrying it for extended periods, unless you jerry-rig a chest strap yourself.

Comments about Sawbill Twill Expedition Pack:

I have been using this product for day trips out hiking with my son. It's very roomy, with nice access to all pockets. It has heavy duty plastic clips for pocket closure with no external zippers that is usually the downfall of most packs like this. It is also really well made and has a somewhat thick internal liner. This adds a little weight but I think it is a good tradeoff. The styling is really nice too- a very distinctive and cool looking appearance.
