I love Hemp and was hoping to use this as an everyday bag, but it is very flimsy, does not stay closed and has no pockets at all. However, I do love the strap length, as it is long enough that I can wear it across my body.

I gave this bag as a gift to a lady friend. We planned a weekend trip south of the border at a beach resort. She arrives at the airport holding only this bag and everything she brought for the weekend inside. The Flight Attendants complimented the bag and her minimal packing. It stored well on the plane. Arrived at the hotel, she unpacks changes clothes and grabs the essentials items for a day on the beach. Great bag, great weekend.

I'm tending to agree with review number one about this bag. I had hoped it would be a little more canvas-y in heft. The material is more like that of summer linen pants. With more substantial fabric and one easy-to-access exterior pocket on the back, this would be a dream bag, not as big as a book bag, but indeed large enough to contain one hardcover or paperback along with essentials. I previously owned a smaller, tougher hemp purse with more pockets -- wish I could put the two together. I'll see how it goes this summer. At this point, I'd recommend it to a friend as a cool extra fair-weather bag, but maybe not as that one trusted anywhere-and-everywhere basic item.

This bag is perfect for holding my magazines and any books I am reading while at my son's karate class twice a week. I am able to keep my hands free and it is very comfortable slung across my chest. I love that my cell phone is secure in the pockets and I even use the pockets to hold my receipts while grocery shopping. I thought the material would be stiffer but it is still pretty easy to fill with magazines and books.

I wanted a lightweight, casual, attractive purse to carry. Although this purse is made well and is lightweight, it is WAY too flimsy and looses it's shape easily. I have always found that Duluth's products are the best, but I think you folks missed the mark with this one.
