We wound this right out of the box. It went "tick, tick", but the alarm wouldn't work without hitting the clock. You have always had the best products for the price, but this was not worth the price, even if it had worked. I fondly remember a similar clock ( same make) from years ago..this one was a huge disappointment. It was immediately sent back.

I bought this clock for my 88 year old mother. She wanted an alarm clock with no batteries, because those clocks don't keep the correct time when the batteries start to run down. She wanted something that she could be assured would have the accurate time. Having purchased two other wind up clocks that did not meant her quality standard, I decided to test this one out first. I set it by my atomic clock and it kept perfect time right out of the box. This is the one she has been looking for. The alarm is loud enough. Since I set it, all she has to do is wind it each morning when she wakes up. Problem solved.

I wanted an old fashioned wind up alarm clock not dependent on batteries and thought this was it. However, there is only one windup key that controls both the time and the alarm, and this limits the times that the alarm will go off in the windup period. I couldn't have the alarm go off and then reset it for 2 hours later if necessary. Reluctantly had to return the clock.

Seems like every time I took out my old travel alarm clock the batteries were dead. I always had to be sure I carried spares. Not with this clock! It's always ready for immediate use. Easy to pack and no worries that it will stop working during the night. Forget the modern marvels. Just wind this up and you're all set!

We liked this as you can't always rely on electrical power during bad weather. It is almost silent as it ticks away. I have had Bulova before and was very pleased with the performance. Hopefully this will last as many years as the old one!

Very helpful during power outages. Ideal for traveling, camping, etc. Very compact and reliable. Folds up easily and securely too.
