For the past 10 years I've been in & (mostly) out of groomers with our now arthritic newfoundlands, one a standard black full of "aged retriever" lumps just under the coat, one a very fine-haired chocolate newf with sensitive skin. This past year I have battled both with many grooming utensils, none of which performs like this "rake"!

For a long time I resisted purchase of something that sounds so painful; on the contrary. Tonite proved otherwise. Four days after a full grooming (of both) I have compiled a bucket of hair - enough to create another dog of same. And neither complained, even when I really went at it on their matted tails. Wow, is all I can say.

II would reccommend this product to anyone that has a dog with a thick coat. I have an Australian Sheppard. Everything I have used to remove the thick undercoat did not seem to work. When I saw the Oster Grooming Rake thought I would try. It works great. Removed and thinned his coat with minimal effort and discomfort to my dog.

I bought this grooming rake hoping it would help with my dog's thick, German Shepherd-like undercoat. While it works on him okay, it doesn't do as good of a job as a shedding blade. That said, it is nice that the fur sticks in the brush instead of flying all over the place when being used. Also, a friend in the dog run with a large, long-haired dog used it and absolutely loved it! I think this is the perfect brush for long-haired dogs, but not so great for short-haired dogs.

I have an Airedale and this tool works better and easier than an comb or brush I have seen on a dog that has hair rather than fur.

Purchased to aid in grooming 2 shedding spaniels. The Grooming Rake works well, but it is not simply a specialized brush that removes some of the undercoat. The rake has a blade in the curve of each strake, and these blades thin out the fur in addition to brushing out dead hair. The result is less shedding for certain, but it's also a thinner coat on your pet. We began by using it daily, but have cut back significantly. There were no instructions included. The dogs find it comfortable, and we love it.

My wife and I have owned numerous large breed dogs for the last thirty years. My wife is a Vet Tech as well. The Oster Grooming Rake easily removes the undercoat without poking and irritating the dog's skin. It is a heavy-duty, professional quality tool that is easy to use. We currently have a German Shepherd and a Collie and the during shedding season it removes enough hair to knit a new dog!

Our daughter used the rake on her dog and immediatly wanted one for her dog. This on a dog who did not like to be groomed,he just quivered all over with pleasure when she used it. Our dog will just sit or stand with joy while I use it on him. A great product which I am glad I purchased. Thanks!!
