These things are so much easier to use and don't have the stinky chemicals in it that the other stuff does. It states that it only takes 1 to start a fire we found that it really takes about 3 but still it works so well for such a small clump... GREAT product, will definetly buy again, and will send as a gift next year for Christmas to my sister.

Created a lot of smoke in a COLD fireplace, warming it up just a bit helped, and this was still useful even when using some newspaper to warm the air (creating an updraft) bc it is long burning and safe for igniting the fire evenly withough using paper to light different logs when one is already burning.

We've been using these every night to start a fire in the fireplace. They burn hot and long enough to get even the most stubborn log to torch. The box doesn't take up a lot of room, and there are fifty easy starts per, so I think this is a great value. I wouldn't change a thing.

These little fire starters work very well. I use them to start my wood burning stove, start camp fires, and I keep them in the car for emergencies. they light easily and burn for about 15 minutes which allows plenty of time to get logs burning on their own. No more need for messy newspapers.
