Rustic yet well-appointed. That was the famous Sawbill Lodge, a log resort in Minnesota’s northwoods, in the 1940s. Every summer, well-heeled sportsmen from St. Paul, Milwaukee and Chicago arrived at Sawbill Lake via float plane – to fish, they said, but just as likely to relax at the bar or play the slots amid the moose and deer antlers, navaho rugs and over-stuffed chairs. Our 22" Sawbill Twill Pullman, with its north woods ruggedness – yet taste for luxury – would have fit right in.
