I saw the lock pick in the catalog and figured its a good product to have because you never know when you'll need it. I lock my keys in my truck often. I own a GMC it was not one of the car companys listed on the packaging that it could work with. I have yet to try it on that. I've tried opening house locks not too succesful yet. I have mastered the padlock though!

We have locks on gates all over our farm. Sometimes keys get lost/misplaced and we hate to cut the lock to get through the gate. This little tool is really nice to have in the truck!

I had almost given up on my file cabinet- after 7 years in storage, the key was nowhere to be found. Just as I had decided to hire a locksmith, I saw this in the Duluth Catalog and figured, What the heck- it can't hurt to try. To my amazement, I unlocked the file cabinet within 15 minutes of opening the package. I have since been able to pick several more locks, but that one alone was worth the price. This is a must for any toolbox!

I have been looking for a lock pick for quite a while. I already knew a little about picking locks, and went straight to work on a "standard" padlock. I get the shackle open in an average of about 5-6 seconds. High security padlocks and doors are still beyond both my reach and interest. I just want to get into my tool box or shed if I misplace a key. Tip for others: picture, in your head, how a lock works and what's happening to the lock while you are moving the pins inside the tumbler. If that isn't enough, look up how a tumbler works online and that should help as well.

Fantastic product. I'm not 100% yet, but with a little practice and a gentle hand, i think anyone could get to be able to pop just about any cylinder lock quickly. As for those who claim that it doesn't work, no offense, but i would say that they might need a little more finesse and a little less force. I was popping door locks with this little guy within fifteen minutes. Isn't a magic wand, but it is a well made little tool that does what it should.

As others have noticed, the screw that holds the pick itself in place within the lock-pick is prone to loosening up in transit. This should not keep anyone from buying it, as it is a very easy fix on an otherwise flawless tool: unscrew the aluminum cap at the business-end of the lock-pick, and right there under the spring is the screw that holds the pick itself in place. Make sure that screw is nice and snug. No need to get carried away and strip the threads, just nice and snug. To be sure the fix on mine was permanent, i put a tiny bit of superglue in on top of the screw to make sure it wasn't going anywhere.

While camping at my parents' trailer last weekend, Dad realized he had left the key to one of the outside access panel doors at home. I had a key on my keyring which looked like it might work, but no dice. Dad dug in his tool bag and whipped this little baby out. We read the simple instructions and a couple of minutes later we were in! This is a handy little lock-pick for simple locks; however it might not work well on some more sophisticated locks.

There are times when access can be critical. Maybe it's just me, but I could not get the tool to function in any effective means.
