This product is useful as a quick fix if the surfaces are clean, dry and straight; most leaks are not clean, dry and straight so it won't work unless the repair is simple. It is very difficult to use this tape if the leak is at a juncture of two different diameter pipes; stretching as you apply the tape causes it to "squirrel". Leaks are often at junctures. There is usually a right and best way to fix a leak; this tape might just work for you under special circumstances, but it never will offer a sturdy permanent repair. A roll of good electrician's tape is just about as useful as extreme tape, and a lot less expensive.

I used this tape to repair the hose on my dear old Electrolux vacuum cleaner where it got worn and developed a leak near the grip. I took it to the shop for a tune up and the Electrolux guy commented on the tape because it left no sticky inner surface for dirt and dust to accumulate on.
It's still there, a year later, and still doing the job. I also used it to repair my shop vac hose that got partially melted by a heat gun...big hole. The tape fixed it.

Use on electrical cords was great. Use on drain pipes was good. Use on kitchen water faucet and intake pipes is not so good. Does help in slow leaks but slows down larger leaks but does not stop them. It is a great product and can give a temporary fixes even in high pressure applications. Am satisfied with the product and would recommend it highly.

This product was used to repair an underground conduit for a sump pump 2 years ago. It had leaked for 7 years and eventually caused a short. Once the tape was applied, the leak stopped and everything is fine. It has also been used for temporary repaired of hoses.

used this tape to cover a gaping hole in the drain pipe under my bathroom sink. it went on easily and completely sealed the hole - no links. this is fantastic tape!

If the tape stops the hose leak, then reenforce with cheap old duct tape to strengthen the wrap. Should stop most bulge and blowouts. But if fix still leaks even a little, wet duct tape won't help.

FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS

I saw one "con" review. It boiled down to _not following the instructions_.

The tape is not an "instantaneous" fix.

If you tape up your "garden hose", as I have used it, and then immediately proceed to turn on the water to see how well the tape works, you will be disappointed. Alas, I made the same mistake... "If all else fails, read the instructions".

However... if you let the mended hose set for a day or so before you attempt to test out the tape, you will be well satisfied...

I just ordered 6 more rolls...!!

Works much better than vinyl electrical tape where reliability of seal is paramount (ie. automotive and/or outdoor electrical connections).
