Thank goodness I haven't had to use this, but it seems to cover all bases for cases when you're trapped in your car. Both our cars have one, and I gave one to my mom. I'd add the cute glow in the dark piece directly on the hammer instead of on the holder, though.

I bought this as a gift for my wife. She is a bit claustrophobic and is concerned about being trapped in the car. I think it is more likely that it will come in handy helping others at an accident site. We store it in the center console, but it would be nice if it came with velcro strips to mount it on the center floor area.

I bought for fire recue use and carry this when driving big rig works real good on breaking out car windows. Donn't have swing hard break the window with this tool.

One criticism. The underside of the holder is concave, so double sided tape does not make adequate contact with a flat surface in the car. Thus, no good way to mount the hammer unless you screw it to the door or front panel - which I am not about to do.

The construction of the "Life Hammer" and the materials used in it are excellent. I have complete confidence it will perform as it should if ever required. I have also given one as a gift to a person I care very much about, and am buying more for my other friends.

You should have this in your car or truck, and buy one and install it in the vehicle of everyone you know and love.

Installation is something to think carefully about. I installed mine midway between the driver and passenger so that either person can retrieve the device. I also installed it "upside-down" because it's easier and more natural for your body to retrieve this device by pulling upwards (like you would a fire alarm).

Hope I never have to use this, but appears durable and practical. I purchased one for each car as well as a Duluth fabric gift bag for each. The gift bag is for storing it in the car.

I plan on mounting this in our family car. I received a knock-off of this product as a gift and was dissatisfied. It had a non-functioning light and seemed very flimsy. It made me worry about my wife and son needing to use it and have it break or not work properly. My wife got me this original one for Christmas and though we thankfully have not had to use it (that's why only 4 stars) it really seems like it will do the job and be easy to use for her or me. I can rest easy now knowing that if the need arises we have the right tool for the job.
