I wanted a coat that I could wear in a professional environment that wasn't as dressy as a long wool coat. When I'm not wearing a full suit, this fits the bill perfectly. I can also wear it when I'm outdoors shoveling the driveway because it is incredibly warm and comfortable. It reminds me of the old cowboy coats of western days. I love it!

This is a great overcoat. I hummed and hawed over getting a regular XL or a Tall L. I typically buy XL so I can get the length in the sleeves but don't need the chest size. For an overcoat I didn't want it to be too bulky and went with the Tall L which is perfect. Now to the overcoat itself... great! Very comfortable and stylish. It's also a lot warmer than I thought it would be by reading the other reviews. I'm sure that the wind-proof barrier has a lot to do with that. I wear a long sleeved whatever under it and it's fine in the winter so far. Love the hand pockets which are fleece lined.

My only complaints are the internal pockets are pretty useless for me. I would much rather have less compartments. It makes them too small. Bigger is better in my opinion. Secondly while the collar is soft and comfortable I think it would look much better with a black collar on the black coat (which I have). But other than those to nit-picks I love the coat and it's rather unique. Don't see many overcoat similar and it looks good whether you're dressing up or down.

This coat is a multi use. Its heavy duty fabric will meet the outdoors men needs by providing protection from the elements. Ranchers will find this a great coat whither in the saddle or doing chores. Yet when heading into town or working the urban battlefield this coat has the style that will get you admiring looks. It works well over a suit or sports jacket. This coat is the one for the rugged individualist.

The only thing that I would reccomend that you could change is give a wider variety of colors. Other than that, DON'T change a thing. This coat is awsome!!!!

A Google search to look for a canvas chore coat long enough to keep my legs warm turned this unique long coat up. (It's much easier to add a long coat than have to change into warmer pants if it turns colder, and easier to shed a long coat if the day heats up.) It is warm, does come down to the knees, and the insulation is thin enough to wear it from fall through spring - a good thing. (On the coldest winter days it needs another layer underneath.)
In black, it looks more like a boss's coat than a tradesman's working coat. Nevertheless it has been great to mow, trim trees, blow leaves and saw wood, keeping my torso and upper legs warm when the cold winds blow.
The only problem is the black color makes it look extra messy as bits of dried leaves and sawdust stick to it. It would be a perfect coat if it came in a tradesman brown. (Anyone reading this at DTC?)
The Duluth sales rep helped to perfectly size me into a medium for my 6'2" 170# frame. (I would have been swimming in the large, tall I considered ordering. So why aren't the exact sleeve length and chest measurements the rep had listed as sizing specifications on the web site, rather than just the generic sizing chart?)
Nevertheless, thank you Duluth Trading Company for great service and producing a quality coat that serves my needs.

Excellent coat. Would help if inside pockets were larger and also missing an upper zipper pocket that could be accessed w/o unzipping jacket and large enough to hold a man's wallet.

Great coat. The bi-swing back and articulated elbows make it very comfortable to drive while wearing. The only flaw is the four of the seven inner pockets are too small to be useful.

Really a nice coat, recommend it for anyone in sub-freezing environs. I'm 6'3" and it falls to mid-to-lower-femur, so not a trench coat proper, I would say, but It's in my rotation to stay; looks nice, fits well, good/heavy weight. I like the lining in the sleeves, the ~corduroy collar/cuffs, numerous interior pockets (as with all my DT gear!), and the fleece-lined pockets are a bonus. Haven't worn this below zero yet, but I will!
