I visit many construction sites in all types of weather. This jacket is rugged and waterproof. Just a few suggestions for improvement; the jacket could use armpit zips as it traps body heat and sweat when the wearer is exerting himself. Other than slight repositioning the hand warmer pockets (a little lower please), this jacket has taken incredible abuse and keeps on ticking.

I spend most of the day outside in the elements and I tend to go through equipment pretty quickly. I have subjected the insulated field coat to a couple of years of pretty rough use and it still looks and feels as good as it did the day I got it.

This coat is also incredibly warm - I can honestly say that I typically wear a T-shirt or short sleeved polo under this thing and I have never gotten cold. This coat is too warm to wear if you will be spending any time indoors at all.

The only thing I did not like about this coat was printed on the tag inside the collar: "Made in China"...

Just got my coat today and I love it. The fire hose fabric is really cool: soft and wearable but you can just tell how strong it is. The whole coat is built tough and is high quality. I saw a picture online where the owner of the company was wearing this very coat. Now to see how it handles a Chicago winter, and especially a Bears playoff game.

As many of the reviews say, the pockets have some off placement & sizing. The slash pockets and main outer pockets could be a couple inches lower. Love the napoleon pocket. The inside chest pockets are odd and seem to be designed for...? The zipper is also a bit tricky but I can usually get it on the 2nd try.

Judging from online availability, it looks like this coat is dwindling in supply...possibly a new batch and re-design coming? Dear Duluth folks, if you are tweaking this coat, then bravo! If you could make one in a dark grey, I'd come back and buy a second caot.

Overall this is my favorite winter coat. Its warm, fits great, and has been extremely durable (I have had it now for 5 years).
The best feature on this coat are the nylon lined sleeves. I love the fact that I can pull the coat on over a heavy sweater and not have the sleeves pull up.

You will need to cut slits in the arms so you don't fill them with sweat Otherwise it works good for bar crawls. Don't work in it. Put it on for breaks though...

I use this coat for going to school (short bicycle commute), and commuting around town in Southern Oregon. The hand warmer pockets are a little high up on the torso, but it's manageable, I guess. I got a reg medium and it fits great-- I am about 5'11" and 155 lbs.It's a little loose around my midsection, though.

Lightweight but very warm, water-resistant, tough and durable. It's my main coat for the winter season and holds up well. The arms don't breathe well when you're very active (shoveling snow, etc) and it's not below freezing, but I get sweaty with any coat in that situation. More bothersome for me is that it gets sticky inside when you go indoors (like a store) and walk around with the jacket on (which can be necessary when you also have a 1 & 2 year old accompanying you). Lots of pockets but I find the main ones a bit small for my hands and not exceptionally well-placed. These niggling bits lower it to 4 stars for me, but after lots of research and trying out different coats, this one's the keeper.
