Comments about Fire Hose Bib Apron:

Iordered this to use in my woodworking shop. The pockets should work great. The looked a little small for big hands so fewer might be better in this case but larger. It was way too small for me when I tried it on and I realized imediately that it would not work for me. I found a great use for it though. My great-nephew uses it for his carrying his woodworking necessities and he thinks its just wonderful. I just went on working without an apron and realized that I didn't want a shop apron in the first place. Thanks though for all your other good stuff.

Comments about Fire Hose Bib Apron:

This Apron was purchased as a replacement.

The Duluth Trading bib is remarkably similar to a competitors apron and I think the DT actually fits better with more coverage around the sides. However, I am severely disappointed with the rear shoulder strap design. The strapping system is poorly, poorly configured, specifically the buckle strap wants to pull out of the mid-shoulder blade loop when putting the apron on. It is extremely difficult to keep the buckle end of the strap assembly, threaded through the rear loop while putting the second arm thru its shoulder strap; often resulting in having to take the apron off and re-threading the strap and trying again. If the wearer dawns the apron (hands free) and is fortunate enough to have the buckle stay strung through the rear loop, the buckle will be end up smack dab in the middle of your shoulder blades.

The key operative here is 'Double Jointed'. I can see it would be most useful to be double jointed at the shoulder, that way you could just reach around your back to the middle of your shoulder blades and grab the buckle (OR) you would be able to hold the buckle in the hand which was inserted first, while contorting your second arm through its respective shoulder strap. The problem here is, in order to hold the buckle end of the strap from being pulled back; the strap will be pulled just enough to reduce the size of the second shoulder opening effectively making the wearer force the second arm all the way behind your back and contort your shoulder joint to get it through the shoulder strap. It is most frustrating and painful to put on and I still find myself going for the worn out, glue caked, hole infested, pockets gone old apron. Other than the frustraton and pain it's not a bad product.

This apron is good and I think the wearer could incorporate one of two possible solutions: 1) A few modifications to the strap and rear loop assembly. Duluth Trading most likely can't affect the neccesary changes because they would then be producing a 'Too Similar' design to that of a competitors apron; or 2) Make putting it on a two man job. I searched for 5 months trying to find an exact replacement to my current bib, and knowing what I know now it might have been prudent to keep looking or just made one myself.

    Service and delivery comments:

This item was ordered during an offer of free shipping. It took 9 days to reach Nevada from Minnesota, quite a bit too long as I often ship across country in much less time, using the same carrier. But it was free so I can't really complain.

Comments about Fire Hose Bib Apron:

Recent reflooring project requiring lots of cross/rip cuts on laminated wood flooring. Kept lots of saw dust off my front. Like to see the apron maybe 2" longer and straps about 2" longer (I'm a big guy!). Saved a lot of t-shirts from paint stains as I instinctivly wipe my hands on my front!

Comments about Fire Hose Bib Apron:

Love this apron! I've been looking around a while to find a work apron that covers, is sturdy, with pockets, and this fits the bill! I work with weapons. It requires a great deal of lifting, pulling and pushing with parts that are normally oily and coated with carbon. This gives me the coverage I need to keep my shirt clean, and the ventilation to keep me cool. I forget I'm even wearing it!
I'd make the top pocket a little deeper/wider for pens, but otherwise extremely pleased with the apron and recommend them to my friends. I'm grateful to have found the product.
      Thanks

Comments about Fire Hose Bib Apron:

Carry a hammer, tape measure, small square, telescoping magnet, mechanical pencil, wood pencil, watch and whatever is being used at the time. Great because lots of pockets and pockets are appropriately sized and placed. I have found that when the Fire Hose Bib Apron feels uncomfortable I have found that something is not on correctly. For example, the strap might be twisted or I don't have the strap around my neck correctly. The ad said that the Bib lets the sawdust filter out of the pockets but my Bib collects the sawdust and I haven't emptied the pockets because I have not had time to empty the sawdust yet. A little strap to clip my watch on the Bib instead of on one of the bottom narrow slots but maybe I can add that myself. Lastly I think I must look like a carpenter geek with my Bib on.

I put in a con about the pockets filling with sawdust...sure but any standard carpenters leather apron will fill with sawdust as well...so the point is somewhat moot. Otherwise this is an excellent apron.

This is one of the best tool pouches I've used. The apron has large sized pouches and plenty of small slots for pencils, tweezers, and small tools for trim and final touches.
