First, let me say that I haven't set chokers in many years and so admittedly my memory might be a bit clouded.
These are GREAT pants but I'm not sure how well they'd actually hold up to the rigors of Oregon forests.
Having said that, I really like these pants for all manner of uses - casual, yard work, camping, hiking etc.

My son loves these for work. He works for a moving company. The extra layer on the front is great to help prevent scrapes and scratches from all the bulky items, boxes and furniture. They are really durable and take the beating. Now he just needs an extra layer in the seat and he will be ready for anything.

I like everything, EXCEPT for the short zipper. My other jeans from Duluth have a full size zipper. It would be appropriate to describe these as you did with the "cheap hotel, no ballroom" jeans. This zipper is too short, to the point of being not sized for an average sized male.

It must say alot about a pair of jeans to become an instant favorite.

I have jeans that I've worn for years that do not feel as good as these jeans right out of the package. The pockets are extra large (I can fit my whole hand in them and I wear a size large glove) as well as durable, while most jeans like this have thin material for pockets, these jeans actually have heavier material in pockets.

Aside from the pockets, and the comfort, and something my wife thinks I'm even silly for mentioning are the belt loops in the back. There are three of them, one in the dead center, and the other two centered over each back pocket. Perfect if you wear a belt.

I have worn them downtown, on dates, while feeding the cattle and clearing the blackberry bushes, these jeans do it all in style and comfort.

I'm a Pipefitter, and in my opinion, these beat the known brands out there. Enough pockets for all I need to carry.
I washed these first time out of the box, and have worn them since. They are so comfortable I don't want to give them up to the washer.
I bought the shortest inseam they have which I knew would be a tad too long.
It would be nice to have shorter inseams for vertically challenged individuals.

It is a shame that the sizing runs SMALL. Beware and adjust accordingly. Pants look and feel great but as small as they are, after one washing, they will be too small. Sizing not same as levis, wranglers, lees.

These jeans were ordered by mistake when what we were aiming for were casual style jeans. They are however a top quality work pant and I will put them to that chore.

Use these at work in a sawmill. Have always been wearing out jeans, just above the knees, so these logger's jeans looked like just the thing. Got two pair and was surprised at how comfortable they fit and how easily I can move, bend and stretch in them.
