These are great socks and the only reason for giving them 4 stars is partially based on where I live. I live in California, and I don't think it gets cold enough here. My feet are so warm they sweat excessively.

I live down in the south where the temperatures reach well in the high 90's to 100 degree range. The short height of the socks help to keep my legs cool under my pants legs. The socks work excellent to keep my feet dry and comfortable during the long work days in a pair of 6 inch high work boots. The socks are cushioned just right for added comfort too.
