Comments about Duluth Trading Work Pants - Men's Fire Hose 5-Pocket Jeans:

My husband is a maintenance supervisor at a large plant and is very hard on his work clothes. Before we discovered Duluth his pants rarely lasted longer than 3 months, he was always ripping them. I was uneasy about spending $60 on a pair of work pants, and was concerned that the fabric would be too stiff and rough for my husband's comfort. To our surprise, not only did the firehose pants fit well, they were were comfortable, in spite of the heavy duty fabric. I am thrilled that these pants hold up over a year! Well worth the money. The pants do start out a little too long, but after a few washes they shrink to the proper length. The waist size did not shrink. The only complaint that my husband has is that the front pockets on his new pants are cut a little higher than his previous ones and are a bit awkward for him to put his hands into.

Ordered these pants with a 30" length I normally buy at any local department store. They were a size to LONG. reorder next pair with a 28 inch length. these fit just fine. So what did they do DISCONTINUE the smaller size. they need to understand that a guys waist size has NOTHING to do with his inseam length. I would recommend these pants if you don't need a 28" length.

Comments about Duluth Trading Work Pants - Men's Fire Hose 5-Pocket Jeans:

Pants are worn daily, inside & outside, casual & doing hard labor. Strength of the material helps me not to worry about another torn pair of pants. Colors are even and do not soil easily. My only dislike I have shorter legs and would like a 29".
I hesitated about the price, but after buying and wearing, I have come back for more.

Comments about Duluth Trading Work Pants - Men's Fire Hose 5-Pocket Jeans:

These change the game forever. The Firehose material is thick and a bit stiff and takes a few wearing cycles to get used to, but they're just as comfortable as any pair of worn-in Wranglers or Levis once you get them broken in, and they'll last a hell of a lot longer than those other guys will.

The Firehose material, as mentioned, is much thicker than the denim you're likely used to, which makes these pants very durable, and surprisingly protective as well. I can't afford to take a knife to them, but I'm confident these will turn nails, sharp metal edges, and other job-related hazards much more effectively than a regular pair of jeans will, and the crouch gusset is handy, especially for scaling walls, climbing ladders, and other sorts of things.

They sit well on the natural waist, and no part of the pants feels too loose or too tight; they're loose where they need to be, snug where it's important they ride snug, and are just in general a supremely well-made product. If you want to show off or hide your butt, these aren't going to be what you want - these are work pants, first and foremost. They ain't gonna make you look bad, but they aren't gonna let you flaunt those glutes, either.

Speaking of appearance, the thickness of the material seems to do poorly when it comes to handling wrinkles, so if you need your pants to be wrinkle-free, prepare to invest a few minutes in ironing them. That said, these aren't really office work pants; you can probably get away with them in a business-casual environment, but these pants are made to be put to use and function clearly takes precedence over form for them. But, really, they still look quite nice if you iron the wrinkles out. The color of the material does not appear to fade much, if at all, even after dozens of wearing-washing cycles.

Despite the thickness of the material, the pants breathe very well, even in 105 degree humid heat. This is a bit of a double edge when it comes to cold drafts, as they let some air IN as well as OUT; you might want to grab a pair of sleepers or longjohns to wear underneath them during colder months.

Like most of Duluth's stuff, they're definitely a bit on the pricey side, but with the variety of colors and durability of the product, it's something that'll likely last you many years if you take good care of them... and they'll STILL probably remain in serviceable condition for a few years if you beat the tar out of them daily.

Comments about Duluth Trading Work Pants - Men's Fire Hose 5-Pocket Jeans:

Purchased primarily for motorcycling because of the heavy material.
The coldest temperatures I've ridden in so far have been the mid 40's and no cold air penetrated the material. Also have ridden in the mid 80's and have not been too hot. Like most jeans they do tend to shrink a little so I got a size larger than I normally wear. They were a little loose at first, but after two hot water washes they are now about right.
