Men's Sizing Charts

Head:

Measure around head, just above eyebrows. Convert inches to hat size using sizing chart.

Sleeve:

Measure from center of back at neck to shoulder, over elbow and down to wrist.

Tradesman Sizing:

Our clothing is generously sized for extra roominess and easy moving fit. No need to size up.

Neck:

Measure around the middle of the neck (at the Adam's apple).

Waist:

Bend side to side to find natural waist. Measure around waist.

Chest:

Keeping tape parallel to the floor, measure fullest part of chest with arms relaxed down at sides.

Inseam:

Measure a pair of pants that fit you well. Measure from the crotch seam to bottom of pants. If you are measuring 100% cotton pants that have been washed, add 1⁄2".

Comments about Duluth Trading Men's Ultimate Fire Hose 9" Work Shorts:

My only dissapoinment was in the Crouch Gusset - it is a very small piece of fabric and does not live up to the hype. Other pants I own (Including the QuickDry Shorts and other brands) have a larger piece of fabric that goes further down the inseam and is way more comfortable.

The material these are made of is impressive. Even though they are heavy they are very comfortable and feel invincible. I work for a company that sets up inflatables and carnival-type attractions. This involves a lot of heavy lifting and crouching, these pants work great. I really like how the front pockets have a flat edge at the back to accommodate a knife or multi-tool clip. I also like how the interiors of the pockets are made of the Fire Hose Material - they really seem like they will last.

I farm and found that these shorts really hold up to what I put them through.The only complaint I had is that I had to order the next size bigger to get the size I needed. I wear a 36 but had to get a 38

This is the THIRD fire hose product I have purchased from Duluth Trading. They are worth every penny and are wonderful. My husband needed a good jacket and pants to wear while snowblowing in the Northeast, so I purchased the fire hose jacket and pants. VERY WARM and durable. I live in East Central Florida and I wear shorts 99% of the time, work and casual. Everything about the shorts, the firehose material, flaps that go in the pocket, heavy duty zipper, triple sewn seams, etc. is the best I have found. I will highly recommend these to everyone.

I am a landscaper and I live in these shorts. I started buying these shorts five years ago and could not believe how durable they were. Truly the toughest shorts I have ever seen. I live in these shorts 12 months a year in Southern California and they hold up to real abuse. I don't know what happened, but last year Duluth changed the design and completely ruined this product. I am not sure why anyone would mess with perfection, but the new shorts shrink after repeated washing much more than the old shorts. The worst part is the front pockets. I have big hands and the pockets are much more shallow than the previous design. They also created a small pocket inside the big pocket which is a frustrating place to lose small items. I don't know any guys that carry a coin purse so I don't know why I would want one in my pocket. I still have several pairs of my old shorts which were made in Macau and they are still good as gold. The new shorts, made in you-know-where aren't worth the price. Big bummer Duluth. I hope you fix the problem.
