    COMMENTS:

I have one pair of these pants and they are, by far, the best pants I've ever owned. I went to Duluth Trading to purchase more, and am very disappointed to find out they're discontinued! They are the best fit, most comfortable pants, yet very durable! Please bring them back!!!

      COMMENTS:

I had a pair of these when they first came out and were great. I recently received a new pair as a gift. All that talk in the catalog about barb wire, kneeling on roofs and motorcycle crashes might just be all talk. What a let down in the construction of the new pair. My 2yr. old shepherd boxer still plays a little ruff with me and chases me through the house. Grabbing at my heels she ripped the seem on the bottom of the leg. I'm hoping that it was a fluke because I have never had a problem with anything from Duluth before... or maybe you should have my dog start testing your clothing!

Logger pants should mean they're made...

      • Good Fit

      Cons

      • Too Many Pockets

        COMMENTS:

I'm a northwestern PA logger, wish they made actual logging pants for us and not just named a pant what it's not. Logging pants should only have 4 pockets, but 4 that are snug. I don't need extra pockets to fill up with sawdust. At the end of a day, I'd prefer not to dump out my pants.
Stating that, I own 4 pairs of the straight cut firehouse and love them. I don't mind the cost due to the fact that they are replaced when I wear them out in a year. Just wish they'd make a better "logger" pant for a logger.

        Double Layered... Mostly

        COMMENTS:

I'm a long time user of Duluth Trading apparel, but I was a little disappointed in the quality of these pants for my specific needs. The reason I bought the logger pants was for the double layer of protection, however the pockets only have one.
A little tricky to explain the fault in design but I'll try. The double layer of material extends from the bottom of the leg up to the waist, which is all well and good, however, when they designed the pockets, it appears they took a short cut and simply stitched across the double layer where the pocket was to end, thereby creating a pocket BETWEEN the two layers of material rather than making a separate pocket UNDER the double layer.
The result is a pocket with only one layer of fabric which is actually less than the normal fire-hose pants. So, when I am lifting tubs of mail up all day at work, dragging them across the front of my pants it rubs and eventually fails against everything in my pockets (See Photo).
Another common area of material failure that i have seen in other reviews is the bottom inseam cuff stitch (See Photo). I did wear these pants 5 days a week for close to 8 months, but I feel they would have lasted longer if the design were perfected. Great idea for the double layer! Just take the extra time/material and build a proper pocket considering the price.

I use these for building fence and other farm work, they are great for wading thru the briars and barb wire doesn't rip them up.
