Firehose pants are fabulous!

By Malissa

from Athens, Ohio

Pros

  • Comfortable
  • Roomy
  • Sturdy

Cons

  • High price

Best Uses

Purchased these pants for my husband for work wear for the summer. We are building a house and installing radiant heating with PEX line in the basement, garage and subfloors. He was crawling, bending and crouching for 3 days and never complained about the fit of these pants. I would love to buy him 3 or 4 more pair. This is going to be a Christmas gift this year for sure. Wash up like a dream and back on him the next day. You will not regret getting a pair of these. Well worth the cost.

The pockets keep my paperwork dry. I can keep moving instead of stopping to pull my pant leg up to climb a ladder. There are a lot of pockets and there big and deep

            Best Uses

            • Rock Climbing

I bought these for outdoor rock climbing. I've used them several times now and they perform as advertised with respect to toughness and flexibility. Awkward stemming, backsteps, etc... are no problem and the fabric holds up well on sharp rocks. They are a little warm if you'll be climbing in exposed areas but they would be perfect for spring and fall climbing.

            • Working

Excellent all-around pants. I wear these 5 days a week at least. Just starting to show signs of wear after 6 months. They have tight cuffs so they can get caught on the top of my boots sometimes. They dry a little faster than jeans, so they are good for backpacking.

              • If Kneeling Is Involved
              • Working outside

I have short legs so was pleased to locate a 28" inseam. I find these pants easy to move in, crouching, getting in & out of truck, and bending over to name specifics. I like the 7 belt loops which appear wider than a blue jean loop. Especially nice is the back loop which is about 4 1/4" wide. I spilled some cold coffee on a leg expecting to get soaked but it beaded up on the leg and was easy to soak up with a towel.
I have kneeled in damp grass doing garden work and moisture did not penetrate. They are my new favorite pants to wear while working, and I think they are suitable for casual wear. I have already recommended them to a friend who said he liked the number of pockets.

Love these to replace my original firehose pants in the summer time. I do miss the little pocket that is in the front right pocket of my winter pants. Perfect for keeping my litte wrenches seperate from my change. Eric

I orderd 3 pair was little skeptical about ordering online and the size but they are true to size ,fits better than my carhartts. Ive only had them a few days but so far I love them going to be ordering more in few days. only complaint I have thus far is they are pricey but Im a tight waud, but worth the money. I only rated 4 stars due to only having them a few days, but will return with another review.
