Worth the Price:

Pros

  • Comfort
  • durability
  • Mobility

Cons

  • Slight shrinking

Best Uses

  • Hard Work

I am a railroad contractor, so I'm on call 24/7. This is the best investment I've made since starting this new job. Buy the knee pads, they are worth it. Since I'm the skinniest crew worker I'm usually the one crawling underneath a railcar or locomotive to hook up chains or disconnect something. Because of the knee pads crawling on rocks all day is nothing, kneeling on rocks is nothing. The abrasion that the knee pad area takes daily has held up, no cuts, no tearing. Which is surprising.

They did slightly shrink on me, but the durability of the material made me overlook that. Take it out the washer, wear it once and it will stretch back in no time. The deep side pockets hold everything you need, their cut wider, while sitting down you can still reach anything in your pocket.

I gotta talk about the cargo pockets. If your a smoker, one pocket perfectly fits your cigarettes. If not, the same pocket perfectly fits your cellphone. I use both, one side for each. The two pen pockets on both sides are great. If you lose one pen you always got an extra at the ready. The cargo pockets are positioned perfectly for driving. I'm a CDL driver and you can reach anything you have in a cargo pocket while in a seated driving position.

Overall, as far as comfort goes, I don't think you can top these workpants. To me, this is the standard. I hope this review was helpful.

Good fit, great looking. Sensible for the working or camping man. These are the last pants you would ever need. Perfect amount of pockets without going overboard. Very tough but comfortable.

          New to fire hose pants

I am an electrician by trade. I stand, stoop, kneel, bend, stretch, and squat. I also have a belt clip for my service keys (explanation coming). the firehose pants are very pricey for what i do, so I was skeptical. The carharts and dickies didn't last me any longer than cheap denim jeans for a lot less. I also never noticed a difference in comfort between them either (maybe just me). The firehose pants fit better right out of the box and there was no break in period needed. The little touches are great: I have a closet full of jeans with broken belt loops, these pants have 2" wide belts loops, and the belt line does not ride down my backside as nearly much with these pants when i bend/squat. The double belt loop on the front keeps my belt clip from moving all around. The cargo pockets are very sturdy. I only hope they don't sag with time and use. I haven't tried the knee pads, still using mine own gel pads. I haven't had them long enough to address longevity, but i am very happy with the fit, and how they move with me.

Pants that work harder than YOU

          By Victor

          from Oklahoma City, OK

          Pros

          • Briar Proof
          • Excellent fit
          • Pockets are deep
          • Tough as Nails
          • Ultra Comfortable

          Cons

          • Needs A Belt Due 2 Weight
          • Pockets Are Deep
          • Takes Breaking In

          Best Uses

          • Fire And Rescue
          • Hard Work
          • Hunting
          • Lookin' Good
          • Roofing

Once they were broken in, they became my favorite pair of pants in my entire wardrobe and wear them several times a week. Took two or three washes to get the stiff-as-a-board feel out.
Main pockets can be a bit too deep for keys and the like. Even too deep for a cell phone really. The cargo pockets are thick and deep - everything a cargo pocket should be.

Do not be fooled. You are getting a pair of pants worth THREE TIMES what Dulluth is charging. I don't know how they're doing it. They must have hijacked a cargo ship full of this awesome material in order to offer these at this price. No Joke, you will be happy with these pants. Work them hard, that's where they're happiest! I guarantee you will wear out before they do.

                  Best Uses

                  • Anything

Wanted to wear these every day possible, but people would start to wonder why I never changed my pants... If you've ever tried the DuluthFlex Firehose pant you already know how comfortable these are... If you haven't there is just no way you'd understand. My mother even said "Nice pants." (that must mean they are good, right?)
Only con I have is that I spilled a drop of bleach on the leg the second time wearing them.. My mistake and I am not happy about it, aside from that, they are my favorite pair of pants.

They fit comfortably, feel lightweight and flexible yet seem more durable than denim jeans. I think they will hold up well with lots of use.

Had the pants about a month and half. Wore several times and washed. Then wore on first carpet job. Came home with ripped knee. Thought they would hold up better. Still love how comfortable they are. Waiting for wife to biy the lined ones for winter. Just hope they last longer.
