I'm a USSA Level 300SL alpine coach. I spend hours at a time standing on the side of mountains freezing my butt off, I need a glove that is nimble yet warm in sub zero weather. These gloves are not it. The glove seems to hold up well enough as a spring ski glove. But even when a liners is added, these gloves are still cold. Maybe in Yellowknife worn under a heavy mit but not by themselves. I feel I was lead to believe these gloves are something they are not. In other words,I waisted my money.

Disappointed! I would have given this glove 5 stars except for the fact that there is just not enough insulation and the price. I live in North Dakota and have had these gloves down to -15 with -25 windchill ... they just are not warm enough. They are awesome untill you start hitting single digits and then my hands start getting cold. Below zero and your going to want to wear something else. They will work at lower temps if you are not going to be out long however. But I work outside all day in the weather and they just dont cut it. I would compare these to 100 gram thinsulate leather gloves. And those dont cost $60+. If you are not going to use these in below zero weather ... they will ge a great glove. If your need a glove for below zero ... I would go with something else. Please fix these gloves Duluth and they will be well worth the money. They need more INSULATION!!!

I like them but the color does not go with anything, and the tips of my fingers are still cold. I thought they would be for really cold days.

These gloves are advertised as being appropriate for "cold weather extremes." However, my fingers freeze even when it's in the teens and 20s...definitely not "extreme" here in Minnesota.
I live in Western Massachusetts and received these in December as a birthday gift. Despite the hardcore product description, I am disappointed these gloves haven't lived to the hipe. I have used these during two recent snowstorms doing snow removal and a few times per week hiking. They are very comfortable for snow removal work. No blisters. Great grip. The leather is very supple. The downside is they ARE NOT waterproof. Mildly water resistant at best. It was snowing pretty hard during both storms and my gloves were soaked right through. It takes a solid 24hrs for them to dry out. I even took a blow dryer to them and the moisture just wouldn't go away inside & out. This moisture was from the snow and not hand sweat. Snow removal can be tough work and you'd expect your hands to sweat in winter gloves, but strangely I experienced no hand sweat.
For hiking, it takes almost 30mins for my fingers to go from feeling raw / cold to feeling comfortable. It's like my gloves rely on my hand warming up before beginning to keep my hand warm. If I briskly flex my hands, things warm up faster. Once my fingers become warm, they stay warm and I experience no hand sweat. It's a nice neutral warmth. I've worn these gloves in temps in the 30s to the low 20s. The dexterity with these gloves is below what I expected. Basically comparable to a ski glove. To manipulate the clip on a dog leash, handle car keys from my coat pocket, operate a flashlight push button, tie my boot laces, driving and pushing control buttons - the gloves have to come off. These gloves are not meant for doing detailed work requiring dexterity. Bulky tasks they're fine.
They styling is nice. I like the yellow & black with the thicker leather padding along my palm areas. The nylon material on the backside of the gloves is nice. The extended cuff at the wrist is nice. Overall durability is good I guess. After a month of use doing things I've mentioned I only have one thin surface cut on one finger tip. I'm skeptical with the leather being so soft on the finger tips how the wear would be if the fingertips were coming in frequent abrasive contact with a surface such as picking up sticks, rocks or logs.
I hope my pair is just defective and not the norm. My pair has its pros and cons. I think my mix-matched review reinforces the ups and downs. I would have liked to give more stars, but the lack of being waterproof, taking so long to keep my fingers warm while hiking and the lack of dexterity to manipulate smaller objects forces me to give just two stars.

These gloves are high-quality leather that I know will last forever. My dad and brother both work outside during the winter months and they love these gloves. They are rugged and warm.
Good for hiking
Sitting on my ice cold AC tractor seat, along with simple leather gloves while plowing snow in sub freezing weather made me very uncomfortable in both areas. The yellowtail gloves solved the hand issue, and believe it or not, the firehose cargo pants are a step beyond, when compared to a pair of jeans when on that cold tractor seat. Also, according to my wife, the hydraluc fluid comes off the firehose pants a lot easier. .
