I work road construction, asphalt to be exact, and I can blow through a pair of red wings in 6 months and they refuse to warranty boots used in asphalt. That being said I'm on my third season with these and I love them. Like others have said the break in period is quite long, and they're heavy but the quality of these boots are outstanding and I love the fact they're built in the USA. I will be a Duluth Trading customer for a long time.

Had a pair of Timberland Aussie boots and loved them. Though, after 9 years, I needed a new pair.

Saw these and had to get them.

So, first off, these are GREAT quality. Don't worry about that...they'll last forever.

But, they are a bit tight at first...though, I wouldn't trade them for larger. What they need is a really, really good break-in period. Like 2 weeks of walking or more.

Sounds like a lot, but it will be worth it. Now they fit like a glove and are perfect. If I had purchased larger, I would have blisters. Gotta be honest, though...those first 2 weeks are a bit uncomfortable.

Bottom line: BUY THEM! Unless you have an extremely, extremely wide foot, buy the normal. But if you have a beefy foot like I do, just expect some break-in period.

Since they're a slip-on, I expected to do some "adapting" to them. They're a little loose, and do tend to slip. A thicker boot sock seems to have remedied hot spots and blisters. Now, they're extremely comfortable. They're pretty warm, maybe a cold weather boot. Since I'm usually on smooth surfaces and don't cover a lot of ground, I think they'll work for me. However, If I had to walk a lot, especially on irregular surfaces--like a construction site--the loose slipper-like fit might be an issue; a lace-up boot would probably be a better choice. Running in them is out. I love the aesthetics of them, and that they're made in USA. They're expensive and worth the money, because they're extremely durable and built to last. Yes, they're heavy; they're heavy duty. I like them so much, I'll make them work. I'll adapt.

I bought these boots to replace the Australian version that has since been sourced out to other countries. I liked the fact that these were USA made. They seem to be even better quality than the originals, especially the sole. I suspect that after a fair amount of time breaking them in, they'll fit like a soft glove.
I would buy these again.

I would have kept them however while testing them out my feet went numb they were just a bit tight on the top of my foot. Please note I am unsuall my feet arent proper shapes.
