Comments about Duluth Trading Work Gloves - Men's Yellowknife Winter Trigger Mitts:

I am 68 years old and have been hunting since I was 13. In all those years I have never found mittens or gloves useable with a rifle or shotgun that would keep my hands warm and dry--until I found these mittens with a trigger finger. First, they really are waterproof. Second, they REALLY are warm. In fact, they are so warm that my hands will sweat if I use the inner glove liners when its above about 20 degrees Fahrenheit. Above that temperature, I just use the mittens without the glove liners. I have had a hip joint and shoulder joint totally replaced, so I always use a hiking staff to avoid falls when afield. The leather surfaces on these gloves provide a great grip on the staff and my guns and appear very durable. I can even operate the safety on my Benelli Ultralight Shotgun and fire it while wearing these mittens. When hunting with a rifle, to get finer trigger control I just slide off the right mitten and leave the liner glove on. The separate trigger finger gives much greater dexterity than ordinary mittens. I can even focus binoculars and spotting scopes while wearing these mittens. I don't know how cold it would have to get for my hands to get cold in these mittens. But, I was out hiking in the snow with my Springer Spaniel the other day when it was 10 degrees with an 18 mph wind and my hands weren't even close to getting cold. Duluth Trading builds its products to be a great value and to be "working tough" for working people. But, they sure work great for us recreational retirees! Thanks, Duluth.

Comments about Duluth Trading Work Gloves - Men's Yellowknife Winter Trigger Mitts:

So it's not bitterly cold here a lot in Jersey, but it's still cold. Got these as a gift and couldn't be happier. Before getting them, I doubt I would have paid this much for a pair of gloves. The fact is you get what you pay for. Probably the last pair of glittens (glove/mittens?) I will ever have to use. Totally worth every penny!

Great gloves for ice fishing. The liners are small enough to stay on when the choppers have to come off. They are big, but not too bulky. Grandpa now wants a pair!

After much research, we bought these trigger mitts. They not only keep his
hands warm, he is able to operate equipment equipment and variable jobs without removing the gloves.

I would like just a little more leather on the back of the mitts to guard against nylon melting from hot muffler, quite warm and the trigger finger is ok for most trigger guards.

Comments about Duluth Trading Work Gloves - Men's Yellowknife Winter Trigger Mitts:

I received these as a Christmas gift. My wife has heard me complain for years about my fingers freezing solid when shoveling snow and I would routinely have to come inside after 20 or 30 minutes on very cold days (low single digits and below) to thaw out my fingers before heading back out again.

These gloves ended all of that. This winter has been a particularly good test of them and I am thankful to have had them as I have had to remove snow several times when air temps were well below zero and wind chills were as low as -35. In the most bitter cold conditions, my fingers have gotten cold while wearing these as I gripped a snow shovel handle and the snow blower handles that have chilled to -20. I don't think it's realistic to expect a glove to provide warmth in those conditions without being twice a bulky and heavy with no dexterity. There is a compromise to be made between a product that is comfortable to wear while providing as much warmth as possible.

My formula for comfort in nearly any temp is to put the liners on, place a $1.00/pair chemical hand warmer in each palm, then slip the mitt over the liner. I used this technique yesterday and was outside for just under 2 hours removing snow. The air temp at the time was 5 above with a wind chill at -14. I never detected a hint of chill in my hands or fingers even while gripping the snow blower handles for nearly that entire length of time. I have not found chemical hand warmers necessary for temps above 10 degrees.

I use these to keep my hands warm when it's cold and wet outside. These do the trick nicely. The only issue I've run in to, is that the elastic closure for the sleeve cover untied itself on the 3rd use. Even without this, these gloves are awesome. So, still 5 stars!

I'm a surveyor in the North Dakota oilfields, where it regularly gets down to -30 degrees. I was having a hard time finding a mitten/liner system that worked well together, so it was good to find a glove that the mitten and liner were designed to work together.
I like the fact that the outer shell has the index finger separate from the rest of the fingers, I hardly realize I am wearing a mitten.
I have spent over $500 on gloves and mittens and hand warmers this winter trying to find the best one, and these are the ones that I keep going to over and over.
The gauntlet design of the outer shell is very good for layering.
And for the people who are complaining that your hands still get cold while snow blowing or doing other activities that require you to hold onto cold metal for a long period of time, that is always going to happen no matter that kind of glove you are wearing. My hands do still get cold when holding my surveyors staff for a long time, but there is no glove in existence that will solve that problem.
