After reading past reviews I feel that we are talking to a brick wall. Redesign the holder for horizontal use only, you will have better reviews and happier customers.

Great for the iPhone as long as you have a slim protective shell on the phone.
The belt loop assembly is the spoiler in this otherwise nice case. It is totally inadequate in design and guarantees to streatch and eventually break under normal wear as it continually stretches and distorts to the break point with this loop design.
At risk of losing your phone, DON'T buy this case.

I use a motorola i1 its a nice fit with this case. I have only used the case for one day with the case sideways, Ie flap opens side, not up. the belt loop is already stretched out about 1/2" I have not called DT yet, as I'm sure they would be more than happy to repalce/refund. I am toying with emoving the leather belt loop and adding a steel belt clip leftover from an old case. Just not sure I want to modify the case and loose the ability to return it.

If you are only going to wear this on your belt sideways then find a shoe repair shop and have him stitch the top and bottom of the belt loop holder. You will be amazed how much stronger it makes the case, it will not be loose on your belt anymore.
I have iPhone 4s and need to use a protective case, this holder was too tight to use with a case. I had the shoe maker remove the outer stitching that you see on the black stretch bands on the sides and restitch the leather through the elastic so it would not pull out. Now this holder is PERFECT!!! Total cost to fix $5.00!! I will definitely buy another one and have it modified for a back up.

After using for one month the stiching on the belt loop came undone. Duluth replaced it. After four months the belt loop on the case is so stretched that the case almost hangs perpendicular to my belt. I will be returning the second case also.

I finally found a nice phone holster. I love the leather and style. The only downside I am finding, as others have found, is the belt loop design leaves a lot to be desired. The leather is stretching and its only a matter of time before it tears. I like the holster design enough that I would spend the extra money to take to a shoe repair shop and have them fabricate a new belt loop as others have done. I think the company should keep selling this holster but mandate the manufacturer redesign the belt loop to correct problems.

The holster is not useful in a vertical position. It is too easy to accidentally open the catch and lose the phone. On the other hand, when the holster is used horizontally, after a short amount of use, it tends to stretch and loosen. After a couple of days, I took the holster to a shoe shop and had the top and bottom areas of the belt loop stitched closed, and this helps greatly to strengthen the loop and stop the stretching. My advice to Duluth is to eliminate touting the holster for vertical use, and have the manufacturer stitch all the way around the belt loop, so as to make the holster fit more tightly on a belt when used horizontally. Otherwise, the holster is tough and does a good job in holding a phone securely.

I finally had it with the clip on phone holsters. The clips were wearing spots in my jeans so I needed a holster with belt loops. Amazingly enlough, belt loop holsters are few are far between, so I was surprised and delighted to find this holster. I understand that the loops after a while can stretch but so far that hasn't happened. I figured I will cross that bridge when I get to it, but until then this is the best holster I have found.
