Bottle opener works but maximum test will be on MX fising trip - hydration operation.
Belt appears very robust for outdoor use.

          Not what I was expecting

Advertised as "Desert Sand", the finish of the belt and buckle gives it a distinct cheap metallic "Gold Tone" look. It might go well on a marching band uniform or Mardi Gras costume, but not on my pants. I'm planning to return it or trade it for the Military Green color.

This is a good nylon belt which is just the right weight (it comes with a warning that this belt is not a climbing belt) and width to support my radio (and possibly other light tools) at work. Also, it is good for any other activity such as backpacking, working in the yard or just hanging out. The nylon belt can be easily cut to a smaller size and shaped (either left squared off or with bobbed corners) any way you want. The actual bottle opener has trouble lifting some bottle caps (it needs to be thinner to slip under the tighter bottle caps more easily), but it will do the job with two or three pulls - not bad for a bottle opener that also holds your pants up and can carry light tools. The metal buckle is good looking and adjusts to your waist easily. So far the buckle and nylon belt itself are standing up well at work - better than my leather belts.

Unfortunately I think I am thinking about returning this belt. Have a 36" waist so ordered the LG. With it in a pair of summer weight firehose pants, I only have about 1-2" of excess, drawn tight. I will give it a little time to wear and see. Will update if opinion changes.

                  just ok

I'm a loyal Duluth customer, and have never been this disappointed in a product the day it was delivered. I haven't worn it for a full day at work yet, and I'm sure it will perform as advertised - to hold my pants up.
I am "glute-challenged" and need a good variably-adjustable belt to stay comfortable, especially with a knife, flashlight and phone hanging on it, and typically a few pounds of tools, etc in my pockets.
Right out of the box - trying it on - the lead edge should be tapered to thread through my belt loops more easily. 2nd - the bar tack where the buckle is affixed to the belt should be across the full width of the belt - without the annoying "corner" flaps that will eventually just catch on something, and fray. 3rd - the aluminum buckle is anodized - presumably for looks. That finish will just get marred over time - better to leave it plain ol' aluminum, so it'll always be the same color overall.
4th - the maker's tags are affixed by the aforementioned bar tack - with the other end of them loose. I cut them off immediately - just another annoying flapping part that serves no purpose. I have already tapered and sealed the leading edge (razor and torch - no-brainer) and intend to sand the anodizing off of the buckle. Have not tried the novel bottle opener feature, as I typically go for cans or twist-offs. Hope someone in the product testing and approval dept reads and possibly heeds this. Thanks!
