The sleeves make it much warmer and drier than any other poncho I have ever owned. Big enough to huddle with kids in a sudden squall or thunder shower. A rope belt .can help reduce air flow under it in a high wind.
Had a chance to actually use this before I started the Camino. Good coverage of me and my pack. I''m 5'11 and it falls with pack on to the knees. Has a zippered neck that allow access to shirt pocket and a really good drawstring head cover with side shields. The only thing I would add is a drawstring to the bottom edge.
