    COMMENTS:

This is a great bag for those travels with multiple paperwork (boarding passes, bag checked, passport, phone, tablet, camera, pens, sunglasses....you get the idea) There are so many places to put things and with the purse crossbody, those things are close to my body. No strange hands slipping in. Zippers zip in both directions, 2 compartments unzip so the area is completely exposed for viewing. Tablet and phone can be separated, with soft material. And it is Duluth!!!!

    COMMENTS:

My favorite purse became worn and frayed after 20+ years of use. Though my husband was glad to see the tattered thing go, I loved that purse! Disappointed the company no longer made them, I looked for years for a suitable replacement. This is almost identical to my trusty shoulder purse, but it's made out of leather instead of the indestructible Cordura nylon I had before. The leather makes it heavier than I expected though not a deal breaker, but everything else is exactly what I wanted.

First of all the bag fits everything you may need for a night out or a weekend away. It's so comfortable and smooth easy to carry fits well against the body. It can even carry a small camera, a map and there's room for more! I can't believe how wonderful this bag is. If fits me like a glove no matter how I carry it. Stop looking because it is Here!

      COMMENTS:

The problem with the bag. You can not put an 8x11 folder in and zip it up. The rounded corners won't except the 8x11. they sould correct this flaw. Otherwise it is fine.

      COMMENTS:

I bought one of these bags two years ago, and have been happily using it on a daily basis ever since. On the plus side, the bag is attractive, carries everything I need to carry (including an iPad), has good-quality 2-way zippers, and *seems* quite rugged -- hence, Duluth's "lifetime" claim. As some reviewers have pointed out, the leather is kind of heavy compared to other nylon bags, and the capacity of the bag tempts you to overload it. And it's expensive.

Unfortunately, my bag failed catastrophically a couple of weeks ago, and the start of a 10-day trip to Italy. There are two rings where you are meant to attach the shoulder strap, and the leather loop holding one of the rings just pulled out of the place where it was attached, with no warning and very little provocation. Fortunately, nothing inside was broken by the fall, and the bag wasn't lost. I was able to limp through the rest of the trip by looping the shoulder strap through the carrying handle, but that was quite awkward. So, definitely not "lifetime" unless your life expectancy is two years.

Upon examining the failed seam, I see that the small leather loop connecting the attachment ring is held to the bag by a single line of stitching, and that is apparently not good enough. Two more rivets, connecting those two loops solidly into the bag, would make all the difference, but this is a place where Duluth skimped on quality. In fact, looking at the newer photos on their website, it seems that they have now eliminated the two rivets that, in my old bag, held the carrying handle securely to the bag. So they are making it worse, not better.

To their credit, the Duluth customer service person cheerfully agreed to refund my money on this, though I have to pay the postage to send the broken bag back to them -- bad psychology, I think. I do like the design and may or may not order a new one the next time it's on sale. But the further weakening of the bag by removing the handle rivets gives me pause.
