        Comments about Buck Redpoint Knife:

I gave this knife to my friend, Norm Anderson, a cattle rancher in LaSalle, Colorado. He uses it on cutting the string on the hay bales, rope, horse feed bags and everything that needs cut. He would be lose without his buck knife.

            Comments about Buck Redpoint Knife:

Great knive. I've had several Buck knives over the years, and this is the best yet! Very sharp(have not had to sharpen yet). It opens easily with one hand, and has a very positive locking mechanism. I own at least 30 to 40 knives, all sizes, types and styles, with out a doubt this is my new favorite!

                  Comments about Buck Redpoint Knife:

Worst mechanism I've ever seen and I own over fifty similar knives. The lock button is spring loaded so you have to keep your thumb on it. You are then supposed to open the blade with the *index finger*. Very clumsy. There is a slot supposedly for thumb opening, but with the thumb tied to the lock button it's worthless.

                    Comments about Buck Redpoint Knife:

This knife is very sharp and easy to open, even with lightweight gloves on. I purchased this knife to hang by a small s-clip to my firefigher turn out gear. The serrated inner part of the blade works particularly well for cutting seat belts, air bags, and rubber door seals. The large ring on the end of the knife works well with large s-clips or with a medium sized carabiner making it readily available. Also the relatively small size and light weight do not get in the way when not in use.

Overall a good knife for the money. Compared to knives supplied by rescue outfitters, it is very reasonable. I can not speak to the durability since I have only had two occasions to use it so far.

                      Comments about Buck Redpoint Knife:

The Buck engineers must have burned the midnight oil on this one, creating an instrument that's attractively designed while being flawlessly functional. While this knife is geared for rigorous jobs, I tend to access a different knife for regular use & reserve this one for finer applications. It's like using ordinary mustard for everyday lunches & bringing out the Grey Poupon to go with the upscale meals.
