I've been tempted to plug in my belt sander to remove the thick callused skin on the bottom of my feet for years but I figured that it might create too much heat. :) lol

I've tried everything. Soaking my feet for hours helps but is temporary at best. I've used all kinds of coarse files and sanding sticks specific to this task but NOTHING has ever worked as good as this Microplane Foot FIle from Duluth! This neat little device works like a cheese grader and removed more dead skin in 2 minutes than I could have removed with the belt sander in :20, SERIOUSLY!

I've had some thick callused skin with very deep cracks in the heels of my feet for many, many years as far back as my high school days from all the various sports I played, and then ad the 30 years of wearing steel toed construction boots and you can begin to imagine the severity of my problem.

Now, the bottoms of my feet are as soft as a baby's behind and I can actually tell what kind of floor surface I am walking on in my bare feet again! I can feel things with my feet (like our thick plush pile carpeting) that I haven't felt in many years! What a comfortable difference it has made in walking on any surface and in any kind of shoe.

This device is a little bit pricey for what it is but NOT for what it does. The protective lid when removed and placed on the back of the device provides a catch basin to store the dead skin particles until your ready to empty it. A clever design and worth every penny.

I have callous buildup behind the small toe on each foot that becomes a bit painful at times. This product works better than any other method I've tried to periodically remove that buildup.

Use this item carefully as it does cut. I use it periodically to remove hard dead skin build up on outer edges of the soles of my feet. I use this in combination with O'Keefe's Healthy Feet.

I don't have a lot of time to rub the foot callouses with a pumice stone. Thw microplane foot file does the job quickly, doesn't cut up my feet, and is very easy too clean. When I saw it described in the catalogue I thought,"yeah, sure" but once I tried it I was sold on its merits. I only need to use it once a week to take off the tough callouses on my feet.
