    COMMENTS:

Got this for mother in law who is an avid gardener. She was underwhelmed at first, but now is finding excuses to whip it out and tackle a range of tasks from weeding, root cutting, pruning, repotting, transplanting, opening potting soil sacks, scraping gunk out of pavement cracks, and so forth.
I never really got a chance to put it into action myself before she grabbed it and ran, but seems well made with a blade that is part trowel, part knife, and part serrated cutter. Got the stainless blade rather than the carbon steel, by the way.
Only negatives are cheesy faux leather sheath, and poor fit of handle to blade. Handle is solidly riveted, to be sure, but there is a big gap between end of blade and bottom of slot in handle. Will see if this affects durability. I have seen versions of this tool around for years and the handle seemed of better quality and fit.

      COMMENTS:

Best garden tool ever. This Hori Hori knife design is my favorite so far among the different brands I have tried. The handle is ergonomic for me and deals well with benign neglect. I like the balance between price and quality - garden tools that are really expensive never get used and those that are cheap break too soon. Previous knife I owned is still going strong after extensive use although the blade tip is blunted now; to be expected from digging in lots of rocky soil. Just a slight bend in the blade at the handle junction after years of using it to pop boulders out of the ground which is testament to its durability despite misuse. No rust, no problem. Everyone who sees me use this knife wants one.

        COMMENTS:

This is the ultimate garden multi-tool. Use as a trowel for weeding gardens and planting; as a dandelion digger in the lawn; the serrated edge for cutting off and deadheading perennials; and even as an edger along gardens. Very sturdily constructed. Highly recommended.

          COMMENTS:

Excellent purchase. I am able to tackle dead limbs, rogue plants, and banana tree leaves with one fell swoop. After that, I can dig a hole to plant new plants in my garden beds. My husband keeps trying to take mine. I guess I need to order him one...
