A while back, a leathersmith showed us a relic from the '70s – a heavy-duty leather belt of epic durability. "Nobody makes them like this any more," he lamented, "but I figured you guys could." We worked with him to bring back the most durable, ruggedly handsome thick leather belt you've ever seen – one you'll still be wearing decades down the line. Two brawny layers of top-grain Italian leather – 40% heavier than standard belts (yet still a comfortable weight to wear). The layers are fused, then stitched with heavy-duty cord. The chunky buckle has rounded corners so it won't jab you when you sit. One of our customers says he wears it so much, "they'll probably bury me in it!"

Men's Sizing Charts

Head:

Measure around head, just above eyebrows. Convert inches to hat size using sizing chart.

Sleeve:

Measure from center of back at neck to shoulder, over elbow and down to wrist.

Tradesman Sizing:

Our clothing is generously sized for extra roominess and easy moving fit. No need to size up.

Neck:

Measure around the middle of the neck (at the Adam's apple).

Waist:

Bend side to side to find natural waist. Measure around waist.

Chest:

Keeping tape parallel to the floor, measure fullest part of chest with arms relaxed down at sides.

Inseam:

Measure a pair of pants that fit you well. Measure from the crotch seam to bottom of pants. If you are measuring 100% cotton pants that have been washed, add 1⁄2".

I love this belt as my daily belt. It is very thick and heavy duty which is exactly what I expected when ordering it. To help with the stiffness, I recommend giving it a treatment of mink oil. Along with conditioning it for use, it does help with a little flexibility which makes buckling and unbuckling a bit easier. Overall, great product.

This belt combined with the massive belt loops of the fire hose pants, it feels like you can be attach a crane to the back of the belt and hoist you up and it would be as safe as a real harness. (Not actually recommended!!!) I expect to be wearing this belt in 2033! Gotta love US made too.

I bought 2 of these, one black, one brown, with hope I have basic belts to last a long time. They both look great and are extremely heavy duty. Not industrial appearing at all, but have impressive dimensions, width and thickness. One humorous problem that I expect will disappear over a short period of use: I put one on to admire and then, as is often true with belts, was presented with the need to unbuckle it with some dispatch. The belt was so stiff that I literally had to ask my wife to aid in my escape. We were both greatly amused. I've gotten better with practice, but fair warning: this is not a one-hander -- if you have old or weaker wrists, be prepared for extending concerted effort the first few times you wear it. This is not a complaint -- it provided me a great anecdote to share!
