        Comments about Cupholders - Robocup:

Greetings to the RoboCup customers on Duluth Trading!

This is from the President & Inventor of RoboCup on how to use a RoboCup. As a "guest", I did actually buy two RoboCups from DT and a nice belt. ;)
        Thank you all! - AJZ

        HOW TO USE:
The powerful two rubberized jaws are wide and leveraged apart for an impressive clamping function. The dual jaws operate using strong stainless steel springs and hardware for rust prevention. RoboCup has no sharp corners and is less than 1 lb. to carry. Molded with a robust utilitarian design, it's constructed of a poly resin material that has UV-inhibitors added for longevity against the sun.

To open, first hold the RoboCup up to your chest with the jaws facing away from you, then using both hands squeeze the top cups inwards using your upper body and finally clamp onto a surface using both jaws equally. The bottom caps unscrew for access to clean it and for long objects including two fishing poles. The included two hook & loop straps can be configured in various configurations to hold your gear or to reduce the inner diameter for smaller sized drinks.

If needed, the jaws can be locked by using a 4" plastic cable-tie in the small openings in the jaws. The spring-loaded jaws are very powerful requiring proper use and caution. Do not put hot drinks or liquids in the RoboCup.

I do field service on medical equipment. I keep a work cart in my van I work from. I snapped the robocup on the handle. I use it to hold my soda with no danger of it spilling any on my tools or on delicate electronic equipment.

                Comments about Cupholders - Robocup:

I bought this, thinking it'd be great to clamp my beverage to a table leg when sewing. But the holder isn't that big. Only cups that fit in an average car drink holder would ever fit. I really don't understand the need for the velcro straps to augment that.

The clamp is really, really strong. In fact, I thought maybe I had to use a tool to loosen it to attach it to anything at first, because I couldn't get the jaws apart until I really forced it. So no worries about it detaching itself from anything.

Please keep in mind this is one female's perspective. Mileage on usefulness would likely vary for someone else.

                  Comments about Cupholders - Robocup:

Originally bought as drink holder on my micstand, but discovered that if you unscrew the bottom caps, this makes a GREAT holster for my desoldering iron and my hot-knife, which frees up space on my workbench.

I have not had issues with melting, but I've been careful holstering hot tools making sure that the heat elements are centered in the holder and not touching the sides. Could be a burn hazard for little hands.

The clip is strong and supports the weight of some hefty tools, it's well-made, I hope they never change it, and I highly recommend this.

                  Comments about Cupholders - Robocup:

Have been looking for a reasonably priced drink holder for our sailboat. Anything "marine" is out of the question. This gift for my husband seems to be perfect.....will know when boat goes back in the water. Although it is very difficult to squeeze to then attach to a railing, it will definitely be good equipment for increasing upper body strength....like a thigh-master for arms and chests.

Gives great flexibility on the boat to hold drinks in several locations, depending on where we are fishing. Well made with a very strong clip. Hopefully is holds up in the saltwater environment.

On Boy Scout camp-outs, I put the Robo-cup on one of the poles of our dining fly. Now I have a place to keep my coffee cup, it's out of the way, and at eye-level.
