I work outside in Oklahoma, it is hot, ie.113 degrees last summer. I am in security, this is the right weight, size and the comfort is wonderful.It is also washable so unlike my other hats I can use it at home, wash it and wear it at work.

This hat does a great job of protecting me from the Colorado (and Australian) sun. This my second hat because the first one was just about worn out when someone took it. The brim seems a little stiffer on this one which I like better. It's a great alternative to more expensive tilley hats.

I'll be someplace like the municipal boat dock and see a friend that has an inadequate hat and can't keep from offering the hat to them. I say,"Take it. I can get another and they aren't that expensive." The brim is wide enough for protection and the material is soft enough that it "flaps around" so you know that the wind is blowing. You can attach stuff like lures to it easily. the really chic users sew an embroidered nametag to the back of the hat at the level of the band. One of my hat recipients had the nerve to ask for a second one after he lost the first one I gave him while rolling his kayak. I couldn't resist, he is a friend...

I bought this hat to wear in Guatamala on a Habitit for Humanity home build. We worked in rain and sun with high humidity.It kept my head dry or shaded as needed and was comfortable all the time.The cord kept it from blowing away while riding in the back of a truck to and from work. When I got home ,I threw it in the washing maching and it came out good as new. Great hat.!
