These pants look good and have a lot of pockets. I like wool pants here in the Wisconsin north woods in the winter. I ordered a pair of 42 X 32. They were to baggy so I sent them back and exchanged them for a pair of 40 X 32. They were to tight. Also the fly was a little short and the crotch was to close to the waist line. I am an average proportionately built type guy and neither pair of these would fit. I sent the second pair back for a refund. I previously bought 2 pair the Duluth flex fleece lined fire hose pants designed like these wool pants. The fleece lined fit perfect and I wear them all the time, no matter what it is I am doing. The wool pants though with the same design just didn't fit, nor were they comfortable.

Have a previous pair from last year. Was glad to find an additional pair on the web. The pants are warmer than flannel lined but more flexible for squatting than the other insulated pants. The lining prevents itching quite well. I am really quite pleased with both pairs, especially with the -40-50 windchills the past 2-3 weeks.

I've never owned a pair of wool pants. When I saw these, I knew I had to have them. Especially since I'm moving to Michigan. Thus far they've helped me not even notice it was 42 degrees, and I'm by the ocean, that's a wet cold. To your bones cold. I gotta say with over a decade of living, playing, working and breathing outdoors I'm wishing I'd found these years ago. I've been all over this country, and these woulda done me good through some of my east coast winters. Bottom line: Great design, following the blue print of the Firehose work pants, these wool pants are warm, and get the job done.

I like wool for cold, wet wear, but wool outdoors pants are a bit hard to find nowadays. I have owned several pairs over the decades: heavy German army surplus pants, medium weight wool pants I got at Goodwill, old wool dress pants, a pair of Austrian wool pants and a pair of worsted wool pants from a Nebraska outfitter. I think these are my favorite ever. They are nylon lined down to the knee, so they are comfortable even without long johns. You may want a lighter pair for fall, but these have winter covered.

The first snow storm of 2014 and I pulled them on 4am this morning to go outside in 10 degree weather to tackle the elements. They gave me good movement shoveling and kept me warm and dry. I wore them into work and got complements on how good they look!!!

These are a wool/poly blend, not 100% wool. But they function just as well as any all wool pant. The material is thick, but not too thick, they aren't restrictive at all. I feel these are as good as it gets for these type pants. However, be forewarned, they are wind resistant, not windproof. These would be the ultimate in warmth if they could be windproofed. Wind cuts through and into the fabric and minimalizes the warmth retention benefit of the wool. In a breeze they suffice. In a sustained wind, not so much.

Still, on sale with the pocket features and the warmth while damp factor. I'd recommend these pants.
