Best work pants I have ever owned

I wish I tried these pants a long time ago. These are the best pair of work pants I have owned to date. I'am a carpenter and when you wear your tool belt you find your self moving and adjusting your pant more than anything. With these pants there is non of this. You can bend ,walk ,climb, and there is no restriction.

          A must have for firefighters

          By A first time reviewer

          Pros

          • Comfortable
          • Durable
          • Flexable

          Cons

            Best Uses

            • Firefighting
            • Housework

As a carpenter and an on-call firefighter these are my favorite pants for both jobs.

My radio and pager clip perfectly to the side "hammer" loops. Its about time someone realized hammer loops are useless for hammers but great for small tools, carabiners and anything else with a clip.

Small loop above the right front pocket lets me hang them on a hook and not tear out a belt loop.

Flexible, lightweight and comfy which gives me more mobility in my bunker gear.

Tough enough to resist rips (and scratches) from from sharp metal roofing and flashing.

Water resistant treatment keeps me dry when overhauling trucks at the station.

            ONLY issues:
There isn't a "key pocket" by the right front pocket... didn't realize how handy these are until it was missing.
I'm a 32" in every other brand but a 36" in these... so they make me feel fat.

Great pants but the pocket rivets blew out on both pairs. Even on the pair I tried to keep nice. I'm going to reinforce the replacement pairs.

More pick resistant than regular Firehose.

            Absolutely need a hammer loop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My husband loved these pants - he said they fit better than any other he has - they don't bind when he is working and he loves them. They stay cleaner longer also.

I pressure wash for my job and use to wear regular blue jeans while working. Well blue jeans soak up water like a sponge and when they get wet they stay wet for hours and become what seems like 10x heavier because of the water.
Saw the duluth pants advertised and how they repel water so thought would give them a try. The first time I wore them for work they got a little wet because of so much water but they didn't soak up water like the blue jeans did. Within 30 min of finishing the job the pants were dry and didn't look as if they were ever worn.

Great pants and I'll definitely be ordering many more for work and everyday use.

Small bit of spandex really makes a difference. These pants allow a lot more freedom of movement than ordinary denim jeans or work pants. Familiar pocket pocket layout with tape/tool loop. I use them for light work - haven't put them to the test on really nasty, abrasive jobs yet, so jury is still out on long term durability, but so far, so good. These pants are also comfortable enough to run in - I use them for high speed dog "walking" in cooler weather.
Duluth might want to expand the color range for this fabric.

I paid the extra money to get these trousers because the carpenter's pants did not hold up well. Since I am not a carpenter, I use them for every-day, on the streets in town. All the pockets add a bit class while walking down main street. I am rough on trousers, as a rule, but these stout and very comfortable 18101's should stand the test of time. They need more color and size options. Other than that, I am glad I paid a little extra for great trousers.
