    Another fine Duluth product

    COMMENTS:

This is a well-made Fire Hose duck vest with sherpa lining. It has ample, nice-sized pockets, two large outer ones good for handwarmers, and one inner and one outer (zippered) for a cell phone. It is fine for layering in temps down into the 20s and comfortable as an outer garment in the 40s if your shirt is heavy enough. If there's one disadvantage to its design, it's that the typical, sturdy zipper closure does not go up to your neck, thus in cold or windy weather you must assure your outer garment does so. Nevertheless, this vest is easily another quality, sturdy, and comfortable product from Duluth Trading Company.

      COMMENTS:

I find these reviews always a little funny to do. Seems like they ask for these things 3 weeks after you buy it and have maybe worn it 3 times. Admittedly, I am a clothes horse. So I have lots of coats and jackets. Vests. Hence, hard to answer questions about zipper action and durability is strange to me.
I live down south and it seems more and more I need a proper winter coat less and less. A lined vest seems to fill a need for me. Especially while driving a car, less bulk. I did go up one size because I like to layer things. I don't know if I hadn't it would have fit me. That is to say it might run a little bit small, but not much. It of course depends on how tight you want the vest to your body. Certain jobs might require tightness for safety and or comfort. I love the pockets. These days with the cell phones, one for work and one personal, car keys and the office keys and the off sight keys, and the pen and notebook, wallet and reading glasses it is a joy.

      COMMENTS:

After owning and loving three "shirt jacs," I ordered this vest in the same XL size. Unfortunately, it won't zipper until I lose fifteen pounds! There is just no consistency in sizing. The shirts are pleasantly loose... the vest will have to remain unzipped in spite of the product description suggesting a loose fit. It is supposed to be outer ware. I don't have time to ship the thing back, so I am stuck. I wish I ordered 2XL.
