Men's Scrapper Vest

Great fit, nice and warm materials, collar DOES fold down.

Previously, I had a Shoreman's Fleece Vest, which I loved and layered under just about everything. My son now has it. So as the winter approached, I had intended to buy another, but Duluth had a great sale on the Scrapper vest, so I thought I'd give it a try instead. I'm pleased, especially at the price that I paid. At the same time, I also bought the Scrapped Jacket (collared, not hooded), and I'm similarly pleased, again, especially at the price that I paid. Both are thin but surprisingly warm. The "rip-resisting CORDURA® nylon fabric shell" feels to the touch as though it should not be tough, but it is. Both are a good length in the body. My only criticisms are minor. As to the first criticism, I wear a size Tall-Large, so that's what I ordered for the jacket and it fits pretty well, if just a bit too generously/loosely in the body. As for the vest, in order to help layer it under the jacket, I ordered a Regular-Medium as there is no Tall-Medium size. The Regular-Medium fits snugly, more so than I'd prefer but not so snugly that I don't wear the vest frequently; okay, it's incentive to stick to that New Year's resolution to shed 10 lbs. It seems that there is a big jump in the sizing from the Medium to the Large (minor criticism No. 1). My second criticism concerns the collar. While the "brushed tricot collar" feels more comfortable against my neck than the "smooth polyester taffeta lining," it's significantly less comfortable than the collar arrangemen of the Shoreman's Fleece vest; perhaps there simply needs to be a larger surface area of the brushed tricot in the collar? My third criticism concerns the dove gray color of the taffeta lining that is mandatory regardless of the color of the outer shell. Let's just say the vest and coat look better zipped closed than open.

I love this vest. I often have to tote my ipad for work, and the inside pocket on this vest, and the scrapper jacket, hold the ipad perfectly. not the ipad mini, my full sized ipad. Also, it is great is in the wind, sheds water, and is really tough. I have done some demolition work in the vest, and it came through without a scratch. I can't recommend highly enough, buy this product. I haven't worn any other coat since I got this and the scrapper hooded jacket.

I am really pleasantly surprised by this garment.
High quality materials have been used for this vest, from the drawstring closures to the zippers it seems to be good functional stuff that will last. The insulation is actually on the OUTSIDE of the pocket..not by your body...which actually keeps your hands warm. While not Down, I think its more functional and just as warm in a lighter more durable package. It's not the most stylish garment but I'm beyond caring about that kind of thing. It is so hard to get quality for you dollar and you can't go wrong with this.
I would only warn that I have a 44 chest and I'm 6 foot 2 inches tall. The chest is slight tight and wow is this long..it toally covers my butt..something I decided I like after wearing it a bit..but maybe not for everyone.

Got this for my brother as he is always snagging himself on something while working. Got him the Large size vest. He his 5'11" 180-185ish lbs. It looks plenty roomy on him and he can definitely put layers on. I don't see him ever wearing this outside in weather under 30 degrees even with some extra layers (if he would ever use layers). He uses it to work on cars out in the garage. The vest keeps his hands and arms free from sleeves so he can move and the nylon has been good to keep free from tearing so far. And it has stayed pretty clean too.

use it for everday use they are lightweight and nonrestricking in movement nothing bad to say about your product

Really like the lightweight but warm aspect. It is very useful in yard work and dog performance activities. It is also comfortable to wear while driving on long trips. Just a bit too long.

Purchased this vest as one of my husband's xmas gifts, he loves it. He says it is warm yet doesn't overheat him. It has a good amount of pockets. He likes that particular shade of gray.

I like that the outside and inside are nylon like. This make it much beter than fleece for homes with pets (fur doesnt stick). Its warm enough to use under a shell for winter work and walking (25F plus wind was fine). Not too warm to wear inside in order to stay warm without turning the heat up. Chest pocket holds a smart phone with room. Handwarmer pockets are warm. Inside pockets are very large, no zippers, just nylon with velcro like closure, large enough to hold gloves. Collar comes up to chin when zipped. Not sure if it would hold up to snagging on a nail.
