I like that it can cover your ears for really cold days or flaps up on not so cold days. I prefer this to a knit hat. I also fell like it looks better then a knit hat. It looks like it is well made and will give me years of use.

Definitely a cold weather product. Sizing must be correct with the flaps down. Excellent warmth with the flaps up. Nice color. Don't see how you could find anything negative about this product.

I don't consider myself a fathead. Never ever even been called it before. But when I got this had in the LG size along with the LG Wool Crusher, the crusher fit perfectly, but this hat was too small. Ear flaps would not even cover the more than half my ears. I returned it in exchange of the XLG size. Hopefully that will do the trick, cuz the hat seems to be a good solution to a cold head and ears, but will still breath so the head won't get sweaty.

Measured my head at the large end of XL. Too small. Exchanged for 2XL (fast and painless). Still too tight, but useable.

First day i wore it, guys at work immediatly started asking about it. i got the dark color.
so for the guys that wear a ball cap ...and then try to put a toque over it...and it just never stays on right.....this is a new day !!! its has a ball cap brim !!!!
i own the whale back pants , this hat is definatly of the same material , as well has a branded PRIMA LOFT liner.
passes the WATER PROOF TEST..... water just rolls of...when it starts raining fold it down .
i always use to wear a hoodie under a work jacket....but then would over heat ....this hat covers the need for the hoodie....and driving with the window down .....this hat is a must , when folded down it covers you neck .
i did order the xl ....so my ears are covered complete.
i do beleive if your looking for lower flap coverage bet the bigger size.
at first it looks a bit squarish and lofty...or bulky
BUT THATS WHAT MAKES IT SOOOOO COOOL
IS UNIQUE and TOUGH ..after all its WHALE BACK
price seemed high.....UNTIL I GOT IT ,again i would problaly pay 30% more and still felt i got a deal......the main reason being for its WATER PROOF membrane.
