I bought this jacket intending to wear it as an alternative to my usual winter coat on the many winter days locally, that are warmer than much of the country. I found the body of the jacket to be a good fit. The sleeves are a bit long, and so narrow that I would have trouble wearing a long-sleeve shirt with the jacket. If possible, I will add more to this after I've had a chance to wear the jacket under various conditions.

I have not worn it yet cause it has been over 90 degrees here everyday since it arrived. I tried it on and found it a little over sized (not much). Would rather it fit loose as it is more comfortable, It is not huge, just right. Above all I know from prior fire hose purchases it should last a lifetime. You cannot kill this stuff!

I took a chance with this since it was on sale, wanting to see how I liked Duluth's Fire Hose material. I was also in the market for a lighter jacket for Fall. I'm very happy with it for the most part. It's softer fabric than I thought, although the weave seems very strong. I was pleasantly surprised when I washed it and it came out of the dryer without any fading or falling apart, unlike some other canvas duck material jackets I've bought before (hint: rhymes with "harcart"). I like the traditional denim jacket styling too. The only thing I've seen that aren't perfect are the sleeve length (a little long, but not so much as to be an issue) and the fact that being unlined means it will not be very warm as Fall goes to Winter. But I have a feeling that by then I'll be buying another Fire Hose jacket or coat with some sort of lining or insulation.

Use as motorcycle jacket for local riding. I feel confident of at least medium-level protection. Perfect. A bit stiff out of the box. So I washed and added Downy fabric softener. Perfect! [But Downy leaves a "scent" you might not want to track into your local Harley dealer's. So either spray the back with WD-40 or let a few rides in heavy traffic replace that scent with "l'Essence de Freeway'.]
Oh yeah, two more beeeg pockets inside, for total of six. Perfect!

I was looking for a traditional jean jacket but was very concerned about the, "Texas Tuxedo" effect (where you wear jeans and a matching jean jacket to create sort of a suit look). I wear blue jeans almost everyday and I chose the navy blue and crossed my fingers.

Its a great blue and definitely does not match any of my jeans. As a result, it looks cooler and most jean jackets made by more traditional jean companies. I do kind of wish the branding of the jacket was more apparent - a Duluth tag where the other traditional companies put there brand would really help it stand apart (and yes I am kind of a person that notices brands).

I have to say I'm pretty happy with my purchase and plan to wear it by itself or with a hooded sweatshirt underneath.

I really wanted to like this jacket after reading the reviews however I just can't. I have several denim jackets from different manufacturers and this one looks nice. It just has the worst fit of any jacket I've tried in recent years. It appeared to be an amalgam of two different jackets, not quiet large and not quite small.
Full disclosure I never wore the jacket, just tried it on several different times before I bit the bullet and returned it; the sleeves and body are too long for a medium and the body and chest are too tight for a medium. I felt like I was being squeezed out the top and bottom, and the sleeves were long enough to completely cover my arms and hands. I am of relatively slender build and did not expect to bind in the chest and shoulders with "tradesman sizing". Very disappointed.

As with the last one, I'd really like a minimal liner of some sort, mainly for the sleeves. I do think that maybe after a couple of years of use it will break in to the point that this won't be an issue. I bought a tan one and got this blue one, too.

The first time I wore this to my local big box home repair store, I got a few nice looks from the ladies there. I don't know whether it was this jacket or it was just my natural good looks ;-) but hey, I take what comes to me. This is a great upgrade from your standard jeans jacket. Still rugged, but a little more refined. This is the first time I have ordered any of the "Fire hose" products. I like the fabric, soft but durable. I ordered this in the Navy color. It is just a bit more dressy. No complaints!

The jacket has gone through a few washes and is still a little stiff.
The sleeve entry is too small, making it difficult to get on and off also feeling a little uncomfortable to ware.
