Was excited to receive this notebook cover as a Christmas Present, however when I went shopping for a sketchbook to fit in it, I couldn't find anything... All of the sketchbooks were too big and wouldn't fit in the notebook cover. I could put an ordinary lined notebook into it, but I don't write, I draw, so this won't help me out...

I have bought and been given many items from Duluth and this is the first time that I have been disappointed. While this notebook cover is great to look at it's design falls well short of being useful. After spending quite some time in the stores today I discovered that 90% of the spiral notebooks will not fit in this cover. You are led to believe by the description that it accommodates 8.5x11 spiral notebooks but the design does not take into account that most notebooks of that size have a beefer spiral binder than the older ones and most now come with a perforated margin for easy removal of paper both of which adds to the overall dimension of the notebook. Only the cheapest notebooks can be crammed in it or you can choose the smaller 8x10 size that which is a sloppy fit. I like a notebook with a decent quality paper and none of the ones I found would fit in this cover. Overall, very disappointed. An extra half inch in width and a quarter inch in height would have made this cover perfect and given it a five star rating.

The cover is great but the internal pockets are a hair small in size vertically. I would like to slip 8 &1/2 by 11 inch paper into these inside sleeves to keep the papers from falling out. A tablet of paper also just misses.

Great leather on the two that I bought for gifts. The spiral notebook is too junior high for me. I prefer the 8.5x10.5 inch tablet (short legal pads) that you find at Office Depot, etc. The sleeve on the inner right side could be designed to hold the cardboard backing on the tablet. I believe that more people would use the tablet. Or, you could have two different models.

I am an architect, I need a leather sketch book cover for my Mead brand "Academie Sketch Diary" which contains 70 sheets of 8.5" x 11" archival quality heavyweight paper (no lines). I carry the sketchbook every day for my notes and sketches and the cardboard covers show ware from my constant use. I am very dissapointed this will not work, it is slightly too small to handle this sketch book.
