Great Except for Shoulder Straps

By Joe

from Ex. San Jose, CA

Pros

  • Design
  • Material

Cons

  • Elastic straps
  • Shoulder straps slip

Best Uses

I wear Ultimate Fire Hose pants almost daily. I would wear the bibs more often, except that the straps loose their adjustment and slip/lengthen. That's pretty annoying. I'll probably trade them in for the pants. If that issue were fixed, I'd be a big fan.

    Pros

    • Length is great
    • Like The Open Neckline
    • Sleeves nice and long
    • Torso Shapely Not Tight

    Cons

    • Wish We Had A Local Store

    Best Uses

    • At Home In The Garden
    • Casual to dress casual
    • Flattering Shape
    • Year Round Useful

I can put it on on a cool day in the 60's as a single layer, or wear it to work as a washable attractive workshirt. Nice neckline frames a necklace well. Year round useful.

Love the bibs, hate the straps.

    By Lineman

    from Kansas City

    Pros

    • Double Side Buttons
    • Great material

    Cons

    • Too Stretchy In Straps

    Best Uses

I have worn bibs for 30+ years and this material is the best. I can't wear them at work because I have to have FR rated clothing but I change into these when I get home. I hate the straps. That is the only reason I don't have several pair. With tools in the pockets the straps slip and stretch and I am walking on the cuffs with the crotch at my knees. I have solved the problem by tying two knots in the straps. Looks ridiculous. Otherwise the fit is good, material excellent. There is another way to make elastic straps with a non stretch outer layer that allows for limited stretch.

                        Firehouse bibs a disappointment

I am a shipyard carpenter, and have lived in covies for closer to forty years than I like to admit. I looked forward to trying yours, but feel let down after using them for about four months. The straps are my biggest gripe. The buckles constantly slip and during ordinary action, come unbuckled or slip off my shoulders. The pocket array is indeed impressive, but the flaps and locations are not conducive to quick access for me. The fabric is another story: it has held up to anything I've crawled on or over and put up with anything I've needed to wipe on it. From glue to blood, from varnish to tapping fluid. They look horrible, which means to me, wonderful. I generally like your products, and will remain a customer, but, for me, these are a miss.

                            Best Uses

I was a little apprehensive at first, I though they would not be everything the web site stated. They where everything and more. Now I have to say they are heavy and here in Texas they are just down right hot. Now with that said I was wearing them while riding the tractor last week. I was taking down 35 acres of saplings and brush. Well I backed up and then went back over an area. Well there was a nice sharp pointed 2" sapling that slipped up through the bottom of the tractor and stabbed me in the jewels and lifted me off the seat. The sapling did not penetrate the overalls but I was bruised.
My wife made fun of me in my overalls buts after what happened she loves them too. :):)
